Correct me if i'm wrong or maybe you just have a different opinion but if feel the most strategic tip you could get for BF2 (and the other BF games) is that you should not shoot at everything that moves!
Situations occur where shooting at enemies is something you should not do.
little example: I'm close to an enemy base i'm alone and see enemy troops and vehicles leaving their (possibly newly captured) base. I shoot at infantary they shoot back and i'm dead! What i should have done is
move (sneaky) toward the flag zone or as far as I can get and look for some type of cover (if there is cover available). Only then I start shooting at anything that may want to kill me!
Ofcourse you also always fire when fired upon or run for cover depending on the type of enemy where ever you are at the map.
another example: Full squad in a rubber boat. Enemy chopper in the area. Gunner starts shooting at enemy chopper in the distance. chopper spotted rubber boat comes over and boom full squad down!
do i have a point ?
:)
