    "The One" tip for bf2!

Correct me if i'm wrong or maybe you just have a different opinion but if feel the most strategic tip you could get for BF2 (and the other BF games) is that you should not shoot at everything that moves!

Situations occur where shooting at enemies is something you should not do.
little example: I'm close to an enemy base i'm alone and see enemy troops and vehicles leaving their (possibly newly captured) base. I shoot at infantary they shoot back and i'm dead! What i should have done is
move (sneaky) toward the flag zone or as far as I can get and look for some type of cover (if there is cover available). Only then I start shooting at anything that may want to kill me!

Ofcourse you also always fire when fired upon or run for cover depending on the type of enemy where ever you are at the map.

another example: Full squad in a rubber boat. Enemy chopper in the area. Gunner starts shooting at enemy chopper in the distance. chopper spotted rubber boat comes over and boom full squad down!

    do i have a point ?

Yeah, that's always what I do.

If you're in an area where you're sure you'll be outmatched, just try to be as sneaky as possible.

That reminds me... today I was advancing towards an enemy flag in a tank, and one of their tanks was leaving out of the other side and didn't even see me.

Instead of firing upon him and letting him know I was there, I let him roll out and go to wherever he was going, and by the time the flag had turned white, he was too far away to really come back and do anything, so as a result I got a flag capture.

If I would have shot at him previous to capturing it, I could have either been killed or overwhelmed by respawning troops.

It's definitely best to think before you shoot.

Yeah that's always a good strategy, the objective is to capture all of the flags...and eliminate those who get in your way. But you don't have to single handingly engage everyone, it's always smart to just leave them be and go for flag and only kill them silently if they pose a threat like returning to base once they realize their flag is being taken. But the worst thing to happen is kill them and try to take their flag cause he's just gonna respawn with an assault rifle or support gun and attempt to hunt you down with full health.

Yeah, I was playing in a match and saw three people coming towards me all on foot. I hit behind a rock, saw one guy was straggling behind, shot him with 2 bullets. The other two guys trying to find where I was, I wait for them to look the other way and them boom, suprise them both.

yes its better not to shoot at every thing you see. What really annoys me is when your driving a boat and the gunner decides to shoot at that attack chopper that just flew past and didnt see us, so it comes back and blows us out of the water.
So in furture if your on the MG in a boat DONT shoot at attack choppers because you'll just **** them off

Same deal applies for the BH gunners, especially if you're trying to either sneak around the back of a base or are cruising way up high to allow people to spawn on you and bail out. the guns dont do diddily anymore, all they do is serve to let anyone nearby pinpoint your position!

Not to hijack, but my one tip for everybody that plays:

Full-auto shooting from 100-yards and farther is dumb.

And that's all I have to say about that.

It's true. I try to control my fire these days after dying from sudden Rambo-itis. Better to spot than shoot. I'll die spotting before I give away my squads position by idlely shooting at something. Especially something I can't possibly kill. I'll shoot at helis etc but only when I'm alone. The bar I take away might help the heli that comes along in two minutes kill it intead of badly injure it, but I fight smart when I'm with a squad.

get a silenced pistol and pick them off... it doesnt register what direction the shots are coming from... its hard and it will take a while to drop someone unless you are getting head shots each time.

It funny tho, there have been many times im lay next to some tree popping that 92FS watching people jump and scurry about trying to work out WTF is going on before they succomb :p you can even place some c4 nearby if they work out your there and come running. boom, time to lob nades, your work is almost done, its just time to get the scar out and give em what for, now where's that backup

but seriously, S-PISTOL first... there is no point needlessly giving your position away.

Nothing worse than some idiot teammate bringing attention onto you when your outgunned and want to sneak past.

All this could be avoided if there was a new commo-rose message like:...."HOLD YOUR FIRE AND KEEP SILENT"....Nothing is more frustrating than be able to sneak in an enemy base and hide, waiting for troops to leave, and having a dude yelling.."get ammo, here" and getting the attention of an entire base on you.
