Question abotu the M95: does it actually do damage to helicopters/jets? Like having 20 snipers shoot at a helo simultaneously and it explodes?

Yes it does. I can take a cobra down in about 2 and a half clips? Something around there. Actually it may be less, I'm not really sure.

But now that the choppers are weaker, you can shoot them down much easier with an M95.

It does some damage, yes. Although it is more than most guns, it still doesn't do very much.

I've shot 2 shots at a copter and he flaired and ran away.. dunno if that was some other reason


oh and btw does it take a headshot to shoot someone out of a cockpit? I could never get a headshot with teh M95 on Karkand, then I went to Oman, climbed up a tower, and shot 5 pilots out of a copter on the ground in a row, each with one shot.

I read somewhere that if you hit the canopy consistently, you can make it smoke after about 4 shots, maybe even bring it down.I don't know for sure, since most of the time I aim for the pilot, but I did notice that after a couple of shots it did start to trail smoke behind it.

A lot, im sure. But I dont know exactly how many. I never shoot at choppers unless I can hit the pilot, or if the chopper is smoking.

Forget which map, but I had been reading enough ppl on here say that you can shoot through the glass and kill pilot or gunner. So I tried, and after a few shots, it worked...killed the gunner, then killed the pilot...chopper just floated for a minute before crashing

So instead of going for the chopper, go for the pilot :)

do what i did when trying to figure out damage on tanks/apc. just join an empty server, and just test out how much damage it does by taking a shot at one on the ground, and then get in it to see its health.

oh, and ya, a headshot will take out the pilot for sure.....but you might be able to take one out if you get like 2 body shots in.

also, how were you shooting pilots on karkand? there are no aircraft on that map.

A squad of guys with PKMs will do alright against a chopper...

I like wake when the chooper pilot tries to hover over the flag for the capture - in particular, the beach. I have had a chopper smoke before, but never took one out without capping the pilot first.

I meant I could never get a headshot anywhere else. Like I had a perfect shot at a tank gunner, clicked the trigger, and only got a crappy kill assist.

Which makes me think it doesn't taek a headshot to kill a pilot in his cockpit.

It does take a headshot, i've been shot at countless times in choppers taking me to 1-2 bars of health. The only times i ever have been killed in one hit is from being teamkilled when taking off in a jet.

Looking at the stats the M95 does 190HP damage to vehicles/aircraft, not sure how many HPs a chopper has, maybe 1500? I've definitely sent a chopper smoking with a full clip from an M95, made them back off and go back for repairs.
