Should EF have been in stores?

Personally, i think Euro Force should have been in stores, or at least it should have been like what they did in Germany. What do you think?

I don't want to hear anything like "EF sucks so no" whether or not it sucks isn't the question the question is would it of been a better idea if it were in stores.

Deffinately. The downloader/purchase system clearly diddnt work well for far to many. The system is hardly a finished project.
Better option would have been to give people a choice until they had come to there senses over the minor details such as relating the gamespy and ea login by default.
Deatils such as neglecting to include a means for some consumers to choose the correct country are also beyond reason, EA surely had that information available to them.

The distribution of EF was a shambles, if they had wanted guinea pigs to trial there downloader system they should have limited it to a single country.

I had no problems with it but as a point of common sense a seller should never make it complex nor difficult for a purchaser to purchase.

Yeah that's true. It also is bad for people like me who don't have credit cards. EA should have done what they did with SF, i don't like the whole download idea. Plus, can't you only download it to one BF2 account or something stupid like that?


As far as the guinea pig thing though, they should have did what they did with SF, some people would download it I'm sure.

Online content distribution is the future, for a $10 game it was smooth sailing for me, and well worth it.

I honestly would not have bought the game if it was in a store, the hassel of going to best buy or the extra shipping costs/delay of ordering off Amazon would not have been worth the effort.

Instant gratification can never be underestimated and I think the bonus pack was fairly priced for what you get.

I am still waiting on a price cut to pick up Special Forces.... right now it looks appetizing except for the fact that I dont really like all the small arms and still have regular unlocks.

If SP drops to say $20 i would probably buy it online as well. I hate disks and physical media for games, Steam and online distribution is here to stay and I love it.

That's funny. I didn't have a single problem in getting EF at all.

The payment scheme was brilliant. The downloader worked impeccably and the finished product is again, brilliant.

Not exactly a shambles by any stretch.

I agree. I'd like to have all the boxes of all additions to BF2. But them all side by side and enjoy the colors :)

I've also got myself the EF jewel case from a friend in Germany sat next to my BF2 and SF cases.

Not really bothered, but for £6 its good, in the stores it would cost £15, because of packaging etc, suppose its easier this way, but the downloader people have had problems with, and I always like a game on a CD/DVD, but I guess you can just burn Euroforce.

would you want to pay 20 dollars instead? the download went off without a hitch for me, and should for anyone with a pulse and brain activity.

and how is one account stupid? if you have multiple people, they should be able to pony up 10 bucks, or they dont get it, simple as that.

you do know that youll only see ghost town and warlord, and both will be claymore infested sniper holes?

it was fun at first, but then all the losers started just playing 24/7 ghost town, and when 1.2 claymore idiocy appeared ghost town is ****.

The downloader works fine for me, but it should have been in stores so I could have a case and a CD for it. I wouldn't mind too much paying the extra price.

i would have rather had the CD but for SF it was sold out at the game stores near me. And i was impressed with how fast it downlaod the file. I like it this way. And i also relize that it keeps the cost down

I would opt for download and physical. It just feels nice having the disc and box. I got all my game boxes on my shelf. It's just buying something and actually having something you can hold you know?

Dont see the point really.

I guess maybe so more people can get a hold of it, but it would probably cost more and the game doesnt cost that much in the first place, selling it online only is just easy money, and pretty much is way easier and less trouble.

The downloader service gave me a few niggles - and I have a pulse and brain activity - but I got there in the end.

Personally I'm not fully happy with download services like Steam or the downloader. The problem I was getting was a corrupted download, so I was having to repeatedly redownload EF.

If I had a physical disc, I really don't think I would have had any problems at all. Downloader services are the future, but it isn't fully formed yet.
