Re: Are Unlocked Guns Inherently Superior to Regular Counterparts

Totally depends on what you want to use them for. My favourite AT gun is the standard one, I have the other 2 unlocked and there's plenty of people here who love the DAO shotgun, but I didn't get on with it. I prefer a gun that can do longer range shooting, but that's just me. I think the 2nd unlock for sniper however is by far the best sniper rifle. And I absolutely love the SA80, I'm reluctant to unlock the next medic gun cos if it's good then that puts me in a dilema

Put simply, each to their own..

Generally, no. They are more alternatives than 'upgrades' IMO.

I do find myself using the unlocks more than the standard guns though. The only standard gun I find myself using regularly is the AK101 when playing MEC, the rest I prefer the unlocks.

MP7 is ace. I tend to think that the upgrades are better. The only stock weapon i tend to use is the pump shotties.

Well I usually use all the unlocks cept for the mp5 i love that thing for some reason. Also I love the SVD I go front line sniping with it due to my no-scope CS skills :p.

The upgrade sniper rifle goes through plane and copter glass which can be a huge advantage when squatting for near an airfield or ship

I agree with everyone here. The unlocks just give you a DIFFERENT style of play. AT MP5 is better at longer ranges while the DAO is for close quarters.

Although I'm tempted to say the SpecOp unlocks actual upgrades....

The ingame numbers state that the AK-47 has the worst "Base Accuracy". Which would make it the least accurate out of all assault class rifles.

Regardless of that fact though. I do prefer the Ak-47 to every other weapon in the game, even with the shabby accuracy it's still a killer.

Yes, unlocks are different and when i say different i mean better. I use AT a lot and DAO is just so much better than the default one. Same goes with Sniper class and L96A1 and how about support and the PKM?

If you had to run around with only the default set of weapons, you would be in disadvantage, but obviously not all unlocks are better or superior.

Re: Are Unlocked Guns Inherently Superior to Regular Counterparts

Each weapon is slightly different in charertaristic than the others.

There isn't one that stands way out over the others. There are two exceptions though.

The Support kit and the AT kit.

The supports unlocks are the PKM and the MG36. The MG36 isn't much of an improvement over the SAW or the RPK-74, but it heats up slower so longer sustained fire, and the PKM is just ungodly at the moment. Long range, heavy damage, good accuracy. Even up close and personal the SAW/RPKor MG36 can't really compete.

And the AT's DAO is a better weapon than the P-90 and the MP5, and the Chinese weapon. However it isn't better than the Bizon 2. The DAO only really works up close and personal, and if you are stranded at long range then you in trouble. The MP5 is good for humiliation kills if you can get behind the badguys, but face to face the DAO rocks. The Bizon is a good mix. You can spray and pray against a group of people. Love that magazine.

The L96A1 isn't better than the M24, IMHO, but it is better than the SVD, the Chinese rifle and the M95, so it is a slightly different weapon. In terms of accuracy it gives the MEC and PLA something tom compete against the M24.

The G36E and the L85A1, well I have to say, Meh. They are slightly better than the M16, but the AK-101 and the chinese medic weapon both kick serious ass. I'd take an AK over the 5.56mm weapons any day. However the G36E seems to have a fairly good unzoomed burst accuracy.

The Spec ops weapons, I prefer the M4 over all the others. The G36C is ok, but doesn't really shine. The SCAR-L simply annoys me. It has the exact same sight as the M4, but a totally different sight picture? Huh? It just stinks of shoddy/rushed/cheap programming and I refuse to use it on principal. I also like the AKS-74u, but the G36c seems to kill faster or in fewer shots.

Assault..... well I'v never been much of an assault player. The M16 is useless, but I like the AK. THe FN 2000 is cute, but I still don't really like it that much. The G3 and I never got on. I don't like the sight picture, but the hand thrown grenades are much <3.

SO all in all, it gives you more weapons that you can play with, and find the ones that fit your style better.

I generally use the origional weapons except for the L96A1 over the auto snipers, the DAO over the MP5 and the PKM on ling ranged maps, the original weapons or MG36 for short ranged ones.

Re: Are Unlocked Guns Inherently Superior to Regular Counterparts

Support: Right now the PKM is both superior to its standard counterpart
and to anything else in the game. Which is why so many use it. It's really
the new "noob tube". The MG36 is also good but needs more rounds to kill
than the PKM. I also prefer the PKM for long range sniping.

Spec Ops: Apart from the PKM the G36C is a great unlock, good long
range accuracy with single shot and up close full auto works well. I
always use it when I play spec ops.

Assault: The G3 has been improved in the latest patch and has better
accuracy but the mag size of 20 rounds really lets it down. It's better
than the M16 because of more damage and similar accuracy and it has
full auto and single shot instead of the shoddy burst of the M16. The
AK-101 (MEC) and AK-47 (China) beats them both. The F2000 has good
single shot accuracy but is unreliable with full auto. I would use it over
M16 but not AK. The F2000 also has a grenade launcher but the way that
works now I would take 5 handgrenades instead.

Medic: The MEC and China standard AK's beats the unlocks and I always
pick them up if I can. The L85A1 and G36E are decent alternatives but
I use them mostly as US medic.

AT: DAO - 12 is a killer up close but you need 3 to 4 shots and it takes
forever to reload. It's still better than the standard pea shooter. P90 is
a POS. Your best chance to kill someone with that toy is if the enemy
                          is occupied with something else.

Sniper: The L96A1 is a welcome unlock for the China and MEC side and
is definately worth considering if you play sniper. If you want your enemy
to know where you are the M95 is a good choice.

Engineer: The MP7 was a good unlock but it has been nerfed. Now it
serves as an alternative if you don't like shotguns. The MK3A1 gives
you 7 shots instead of 1 (US and China) but at the price of reduced
damage per shot. I still use it sometimes.

Re: Are Unlocked Guns Inherently Superior to Regular Counterparts

Basically the new guns are a re-roll of the stats of the stock guns. Each gun has a set of stats determining what it can and cant do - with new guns those stats are re-rolled to create something different. Overall they are exactly the same gun but the stats are in different places. The stats themselves add up the same for each gun, but they are made unique by their different stat placings. So when gun 1 has an accuracy of 4/5 and a damage of 5/5, gun 2 has damage of 4/5 but an accuracy of 5/5. Gun 1 hits its target with more damage less often. Gun 2 hits its target with less damage but more often.

Some are better some are different. The PKM is much better than the regs and the G3 is much better than the other (1.2). But P90 sucks more than MP5 or PP 19. Personally AI just choose a gun that fits my style and within this you will own. (G3 expert)

Well I wasn't too imressed with your stats, and when I did comparisson, I have better accuracy than you with all the rifles, carbines and light machine guns. So maybe you should learn how to shoot, and base your posts on facts and data.

I used the PKM long time ago before all this new patches and increased accuracy. I loved it back then, even though the accuracy sucked. my point :It's ok to like the ak47, but to argue that it's the most accurate rifle, like that idiot reign was saying, is total nonsence.
