you dont need to spend money on a souyndcard just set it to software and you'll be good.

Which would you rather have, a small performance hit and it sound right, or what you have now? BTW have you checked out the readme from the game that lists cards that are compatible with hardware mode?

sounds fine and you won't have problems. If you get crackles, you need to update your driver.
