Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
what is NOT realistic is that when he puts a new clip in he cocks the gun again, wasting that round that's in the chamber.
When i put a 30 rnd clip in and **** the gun, then technically there is only 29 bullets in the clip because the 30th is chambered. If i reload then - then i get 30 in the clip - and 1 in teh chamber.
you only need to **** the gun if you run out of ammo in a clip and need to put a fresh one in. And even then, most modern weapons have a bolt release funtion so you don't have to **** it.
On an M16 when you fire that last round the bolt stays back. You put the new clip in and hit a button and the bolt slams forward and cocks the gun for you (much like a sem-auto pistol).
anywhoo - thats my rant.
EDIT: why can't i say c o c k? i can only say cocks?
Yeah, there's nothing like making a mistake to spark a little contreversy. I should've expected to be flamed as opposed to corrected, but that's the way of this forum (moreso recently)
It does bring about the question of ammo usage though and the point i was trying to make was that i try to use the whole clip to a point where i'm not going to be in a position of running round a corner, ending up face to face with the enemy and bang click. But then i've always got my pistol.
It's amazing how someone running out of ammo suddenly results in them bouncing round in front of you trying to reload before you kill them.
well if you hit a guy with no body armor in real life with any assault round, including the "weak" 5.56 mm M16 round, he is out of the battle, no questions asked, and a magical medi pack and defribbilator wont help.... defribillators are for heart attacks??
BF2 is as realistic as it gets in a videogamem while still being fun. yes, i know that ak 47s can hit targets 300 metres away, and not necessarily prone, but that would just mess up the game. 1.2 patch also made it more realistic. BF2 is certainly more so than garbage splinter cell and other tom clancy bs. thats basically all it is other than BF, is CS and tom clancy, both of which are garbage realism wise.and boxious, i would say that the pistol is good for many scenarios, but not all. if you come around a corner and face 3 guys, 1 with pkm and 2 toting auto shotguns, a pistol is not the answer.
a grenade or a knife might be.
actually, that reminds me of the best typical sniper pwning ever. in karkand, i was running toward the area that the USMC always go through as MEC.
there was a typical noob sniper standing behind those 3 cylinders on the ground, and i laughed as he had his little L96A1 out, trying to snipe me, apparently ignorant of the fact that he had no skill whatsoever, like 99 percent of snipers.
as i ran around the cylinders this noob draws his pistol, starts to panic and misses with all his shots, while i knife him easily despite him jumping and running around.
that, is why the pistol is not always best, least of all if you have no skill.
I hate to break this to you IntensivCareBear, but Tom Clancy doesn't make video games.
He only puts his name on them.
Tom Clancy is actually very well-versed on what is realistic in the military. His books are pure fantasy, however. Otherwise, they'd be in the reference section.
did you guys know that when you look down you don't see your feet?
WHERE THE F*K ARE MY FEET?!?!?!
i should also have to tie my shoes before going out on the battlefield.
should have to eat breakfast first too to fuel up for the play.
imagine a mod that made you cook your own beans out on a field campfire first to generate health, then you could go play!

Jesus christ . No-one is complaining! You sir, are just the sort of nob-minded fool that this forum really needs.
AnotherEd, i've just looked through your pevious posts expecting the same stupid sort of remarks that you've displayed on this one but no, they seem ok, so why,i ask, did you feel the need to flame this thread?
Next time you post something make sure you are right dude. Everybody knows that when you reload you actually loose that clip no matter how many bullets left in it. So it IS realistic. IMHO I think its one of the good feature of this game as you gotta take a chance whether or not you wanna keep a half--clip.
Pretty harsh arrogant reply. If everyone posted only when they were right about something, hmmm, sure would elimimate about 90% of the posts here.
How does one make sure they're always right anyway? Don't bother answering until you're absolutely sure your answer is correct. Come to think of it, I'm probably wrong about the 90% and shouldn't have posted myself.

Your title is "Reloading, (oh yeah it's an arcade game)". I'm not sure how else to take the part in the parentheses other than it's a sarcastic "pre-response" to those that would call you out on not everything having to be realistic. You seem to try to beat down those that would argue such a fact before they even get to your subject material. Hardly the approach of someone looking for "opinions" and far more likely that of someone "complaining."
I'm sorry if my post came off as inflammatory. I don't post often here, but I read a lot of posts about people complaining about how unrealistic X is or how not true to the real thing Y is. It seems completely absurd to me. There are SO many things that are not realistic about this game (any game) that it seems ridiculous to even discuss. The game is what it is because that's what they chose to do it as for whatever reason they did (ease of coding, simplicity in usability, fairness to flow, etc/whatever).
So when you come forward with a suggestion in such a way as you did, already lashing out against those that would simply claim "arcade game not realism" by throwing sarcasm at them, it seemed appropriate to berate the concept.
The main purpose in my post was to call attention to the fact that mods exist out there to do such things as realism as much as possible. I apologize for addressing you similarly to how you addressed all those that think like me (it's an arcade game). I should not have stooped to such a level of sarcasm combined with disdain.
Also, I'm not quite sure how you review my remarks as the "stupid sort." I clarified that going realistic can have negative effects on game enjoyment through example. I pointed you to a mod that has similar interests and may excite you. That's stupid?

I never noticed that before...yeah if the Marine cocks the gun if he didn't finish the clip and puts in a fresh one he'll have one less bullet...not very smart. And what the f*cks with the ak101 mag, he flips the same one over to the other one even when it's out!

Yeah Tom Clancy didn't write Splinter Cell or Ghost Recon, Red Storm and Ubisoft did and said "yo, Clancy, sup...this game was inspired by your work somehow (bitch please), can we put your name on the front cover to increase profit?"
"K"
First off.. they Mags (magazines) NOT clips , and I have heard contless times from fellow soldier freinds that they have dropped many MAGS in training and realizing that they have 3-10 rnds left over, Its easier for target placement then to count in battle.....
