If 4 times is whoring and 5 is hacking, what does multiple simultaneous events count as? Such as, 9 artillery kills in 1 volley. Is that considered cheap or hax or awesome?

So long as you're using the tools that the game gives you then good luck to you. If I get killed a million times by the same person using the same weapon, then i'm the one who needs to improve and change tactics.

You know, if you didnt pick on such a small issue, you would have been ignored. So you get what you deserve. What an irony, huh?

I think what happened is that you simply didn't understand me. Your approach is that people should apparently do as they like (i.e., whore). THAT IS A SET OF RULES, like it or not. It's just a different set from the ones your opponents are using.

Actually, its not. Youre about to turn this into a philosophical debate, you know? My personal approach, opinion is that some rules are necessary for the benefit of all. The first thing where me and that article dont mix is- he thinks its allowed to use the games bugs to your own benefit. I am a strong believer in no cheating and no bug exploit policy. 20 pound JHP projectile in SWAT4 1.0 is a bug, people used it to get 1 shot 1 kill. However, tossing C4 in BF2 is not a bug. It actually is a realistic element.

And that article mainly discusses restricting gameplay elements. For example (again) SWAT4 "no camping" policy in many servers. Theres rushing (offensive tactics) and camping (defensive tactics). So the players who have no idea how to play defensively, create a rule that there should be no defensive gameplay just because its "cheap", "lame". But the truth is, they just cant play defensively. Thats what its all about. Now what youre saying, hell youre not even trying to counter my argument. Youre just picking. Youre saying only that no rule is a rule. What has this to do with anything thats being discussed in that article?

Theres restricted gameplay for some who actually enforce the restricted way of playing, and theres an open gameplay for people who know that what game has to offer, should be used. Now, the open players are more successful (not a rule), where the closed gamers whine the most. And as admin, Ive seen it myself. Too many times.

You feel it's OK/natural/whateverthehellyouwanttoclaim for people to play a certain way, one which objectors call "whoring." You have absolutely no grounds for claiming that you support "openness" or that objectors' rules are "imaginary."

Youre wrong here. Its not "a certain way". Its "the way its possible to be played". You see the difference? One is striving for perfection. One is striving for their own selfish personal need. In CS, a rusher gets killed by a camper. Whats the first thing the rusher yells out? "camping fog!" isnt it? So, in order to bring joy to the other player who simply cant play and see past his own blocked vision, other player has to restrict his gameplay? What if now, the opened player loses more frags and the restricted one gains more? Would that be fair?

You just happen to think the game plays better a certain way. That's all. And when you come here an post some unimaginably tedious, poorly thought-out defense of that position, AND then try to claim your view is somehow inherently superior (essentially because it suits you), well then -- you have a real problem.

Youve only done it by trying to prove that "no rules" is a rule. My view, if you must know is- certain rules need to be enforced in order to be beneficial to all, I dont think its "the most right" way. But I do think that as a game server admin, player, its easier to play with borders. You know what you can and cant do. But I also believe that this article has a very valid point. Especially, as pointed out so many times- whiners, who get killed by the ways they cant counter because they wont LEARN to counter it- call it "lame", "whoreish", "weak", "n00bish", "ghey", "whatever". All you've managed to do is loudly proclaim that your "fun" is superior to an objectors' "fun." But you've yet to give a single good reason why that should be so.

Ive never said "my fun" is superior. So I dont need to give you any reasons. BUT, Im telling you to stop making things up, youre rather pathetic. Youre trying to make a point but you dont know what point youre even trying to make. Youre just trying to do... something. Youre just posting because you feel like it. And youre posting missing totally what youre posting to counter.

The problem for me is that the article goes from a statement like this, to saying there should be no rules. And that step is to hard to swallow.

Although he makes some intersting points, so it was a good read anyway (well it was a few month ago ;-)), I don't agree to the conclusions he draws.

For me it feels like a strawman tactic.

People who are lame whine -> Whiners want rules -> if you're not a whiner, you don't want rules.
