if ur a squad leader, make sure anyone can spawn on u at anytime....no getting into full vehicles....

if ur commander....dont make it a habit to spot every single enemy...spot ones that are close to control points, or temates....not ones on the other side of the map far from anything friendly...

i was playin karkand the other day.....i was in a transport vehicle...the hum v thingy...and i drove with a guy in my gunner seat to an enemy CP...i start lowering the flag, and this guy gets out for the points.....so i get in the gunner seat to offer cover.....this guys sees that after i get the neutralise points.....so he gets into the drivers seat.....and takes the capture points, i get out and get an assist....then he drives off without me....

that is not courteous, its more of an example of how to not be courteous...its an example of being a prick....its what not to do

I revive dead medics with their kit all the time. Also, commending an enemy player on a good shot can usually lead to some good laughs, it gets the chat going.

The good thing is, most of these things lead to you getting more points, either directly or indirectly.

EG, reviving a fallen medic will net you 2 extra points. Giving teammates a lift increases the effectiveness of your vehicle and the extra man will help you when you get to your objective.

It also makes the game more fun when your having a laugh as opposed to raging at tank-stealers or blind medics.

Last time, i jumped on a bomber jet and waited to pick up a teammate, then another teammate showed up and C4 the jet.

I tk if someone jacks my tank while I am repairing.

I would too, but as I repair I watch my mini-map to make sure no one comes along to take it.

Airfield/helipad courtesy:
If two people are already there waiting. Leave. To be more specific, Do nothing or find something else to do, and leave.

Squad courtesy:
Go out of your way to watch a squad-mates back; they will/should do the same. Commend each other on their help and team-work.

Each and every squad member should be facing in the general direction of the objective. With exception of the guy tailing at the back- he watches the squad's back.

Squad Leader courtesy:
As a leader- you look out for all your squad members, and make sure they all have a part in your objectives. Talk to them. Please.

Clan courtesy:
Anyone has just as much right to a vehicle/aircraft as you; don't dare think that only people in your/a clan should have the vehicles on the team; if you think that way; you and your clan definately don't deserve a vehicle.
That of course, goes to my many experiences of clans TKing me in my helo just to get at it so they can fly with their clan-mates. It's disgusting.

General courtesy:
The radio-command 'thank-you' may just be a click away, but goes a long long way to that guy never minding doing the same for you over and over.

If a command is issued- either accept with enthusiasm, or say nothing. Don't spam the 'negative' radio command.

Combat courtesy:
Friendly fire has right of way; don't get in someone's line of sight, plus spreading out has the added bonus of increasing the teams' 'field of effect'.

If you throw a grenade, please make sure no friendlies are going to get caught in it; it takes nothing but a quick peek at your minimap.

If you see a friendly firing at something/enemy; spare a moment to lend your fire-power, goodness knows if he'd ever win it on his own.

Commander Courtesy:
Herald/warn of your next artillery strike. It helps you avoid TKs, and helps others avoid being TKed by you; and at least gives them a reason not to punish you when caught in it.

Let squad leaders know what facilities you have available for them- they can see the ground better than you, and may need it more than whoever else you're going to deploy it on. There ARE some squad leaders who are good at making wise requests.

Be a saint:
Sometimes, spare a minute or two- to go out of your way to be helpful to anyone. Do a taxi run, play as medic for once, and take yourself to a vital spot where you're most needed. Help take down that tank by picking up an AT kit.

Wow, send me the IP when its set up...there are too few servers like that. I found one about a month ago that kicked you if you weren't in a squad....one of the best BF2 game experiences i've ever had lol. :)

The only problem is trying to enforce a rule like that- it would be similar to crying to your mum because your brother's not sharing with you.

I suppose the best way to go about that is:

To set a team-work/play only server, make sure you set rules that display on the loading screen; ensure that they:

1. Join a squad immediately- with consideration to what the squad may need.
2. Alternatively, create a squad- and invite those whose kits and contribution you need.
3. Don't create a squad just for the sake of playing for themselves.
4. If you create a squad- label it something appropriate to what it will do.
5. Would the bloody person who applies for commander actually do their job and COMMAND?!

I dont think hes saying to steal the tank...just make sure it doesnt get stolen.

There should be a rule added to BF2, its ridiculous but it would make the game better...ready???? NO MORONS AS MEDS OR SUPPORT

This way when you are 6 inches away from someone and you need ammo/health/revive and they dont help, they get kicked...it makes me sad that this will never happen.

No joke, the other day i was sniping and i was completely out of ammo except my pistol and there was a support guy right next to me for five minutes while i continuously asked for ammo, then turned to typing in caps in the middle of the screen for that ******* to see, only for him to run away. I thought it was funny that his parachute didnt deploy on his jump from the building:laugh:

This is a nice thread and it's nice to see alot of good guys/gals in here, unlike the many bf2 players that are selfish.

Personally, I'm not perfect. I try to use common sense.

Thanks... in a way, BF2 emulates the real world; 90% of the time, everyone's only looking out for themselves; but at times, you really do get to see the human spirit come alive when a situation becomes dire, and you manage to find yourself fortunate enough to be in the company of the rarest good men and women around.

Common sense is good; and like any good act; common sense also comes from within.
