Can you tell me why after about 2 hours of playing BF2 the game gets laggy?
-Not laggy due to internet connection: no one else is on my network, the ping is around 30
-the laggy problem actually freezes the computer, i cant tab to look at scores, i cant escape to menu, i cant enter to spawn screen, i cant alt+tab to windows, i cant do anything. It's like it were to say not responding in task manager - if i could look at it.
-the lag occurs for about 3-6 seconds at a time, about 5 of these per cycle, and another cycle will srat about 10 minutes or less since the last one. This all only starts to occur after an hour or more of playing.
-i get the feeling it is ram related, due to the symptops I described above. I will post my specs at the end all together
-is it to do with punk buster checking every 500 seconds? ( I have done pb_sleep500, pb_writecfg)
-is it to do with the drive needing to defrag after and hour or two?
-Could it be power related? I have 400 Watt supply
2x 1gig Corsair DDR400
AGP Nvidia Geforce 6200 256mb
AMD athlon 3700+ @2.2 Ghz
ASRock A8X-M Motherboard
I think thats all you need to know.
I appreciate any help, I have searched here, other forums and no one can help me, I just got this new pc, and there is no reason why I shouldn't be able to play the way I do for an hour or so, everytime for at least a lot longer.
Another reason why this is annoying to the point of me feeling soo annoyed at buyign this pc, is that restarting, deleteing bfs cache, and defraging doesn't fix it,
also I have my graphics set at medium for texture, geometries etc, and off or low for everything that should be that way: AA, lighting etc :P
