I bought it.

I dont hate it, sure its some different stuff, but it is no way as good as they could have made it.

The good new guns you can only use on EF maps, 2 of which are just completely recycled BF2 building arangements.

Some reason they think they can make a map by putting in random desert and throwing down some random buildings round each flag.

Hardly any effort put into the SF and EF maps.

Sceptical at first, but just played a few rounds and thought it was great, recommend you buy it, although it will be nice if EA give away a few maps etc in a few months time.

EuroForce is great and I had absolutely NO problems with the EA downloader. It only took 15 minutes to download the game and I'm loving it.
The backgrounds are fantastic. It's worth the 10 bucks just to see the sky detail in Operation Smoke Screen and the autumn leaves dropping from the trees in Great Wall.
It seems a bit more laggy to me but my rig is a bit outdated and I'm running medium graphix so that could be the problem.
Word of warning: The Euro Tiger attack heli is squirrley as all hell! Way more respnsive and manueverable than any othe heli out there but this can lead to overzealous pilots inadvertandly doing barrel rolls on the heli pad...and then off course kaboom!

i haven't played it yet. i'm finally downloading it right now. i bought it the other day but i couldn't be bothered to uninstall beta 2 of internet explorer 7. ea downloader is not compatible with anything but IE 6. i finally rolled it back to 6 and i'm downloading. hopefully i won't have any install problems.

I like it and had zero problems with the downloader, this is because i can actually read the various questions it asked and can spell my name correctly

My favourite map is great wall with 64 players its infantry-tastic :laugh:

What you have to remeber is whiners will always shout louder then grateful people and the whiners are posting here and most people that like it are playing it :)

... ea downloader is not compatible with anything but IE 6.

Works fine with Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.1.

Just played on all maps for the first time........can't say i like it but then my thing is warlord, no planes, few tanks, just grunts killing each other. I'm not a tank whore so it's not for me.

Wrong. There are several 64 player servers. You can even add the EF maps into a vanilla BF2 64 player server.
Played Taraba Quarry and Smokescreen 64 today and they were a blast.

Don't get "sick of it". Only a tiny minority of gamers visit gaming forums, and it's usually those who have a complaint who feel driven to post the most, which is why certain changes took place in the 1.2 patch - to pacify the vocal minority of whining kids. The happy bunnies just go play.
As I don't want the BF series of game to change to suit me (ME ME ME ME ME!!!) and expect the games to have lots of vehicles, aircraft and infantry trying to avoid or kill these vehicles, I'm happy with EF. £5.99 is a pittance. The price of a pizza. It's hardly worth complaining about.

He spends more than half his total time in a jet. Not total vehicle time, total PLAY TIME. Yeah, we know atleast one person on this forum is about "me! me! me!" alright.


Anyway, yes I dislike Euro-force. The great wall is okay, but the rest of the maps are just a huge step back for the game. How well you do revolves almost completely on whether you get a tank and/or aircraft. SF had it right. Tanks, while the ultimate killers, were compensated by the fact that they couldn't capture many flags. The same with the helos in SF. Now load time matters more than skill...again!

Not to mention the horrible voice acting for the EU soldiers, but atleast that's funny, unlike getting killed by air power or a tank repeatedly while you scramble along of foot to a base which is half a mile away.

I just wish I could find a "great wall 24/7 server".

The maps are only "officially" 32 player maps, but you can rig the servers for 64 players.

Doing that actually helps them a good deal since it gives you a much better chance of not being the bomb target for the jet that comes by every 30 seconds. It also goes a long ways towards finding action on Great Wall.

I still think that this isn't the type of new content you should actually have to pay for. Just about any game I can think of that added FREE maps after release managed to add maps that were better playing.

There's nothing in the quote you posted which could constitute "idiotic hypocrisy". It's a fact that a minority of gamers visit gaming forums and also a fact that it's generally a vocal minority who have a complaint or problem who are heard.

I've spent 255 hours in jets, leaving me with 620 hours on the ground, most of which is spent on foot. You have 127 hours in armour (approximately 2.5x more than me). Do I care? No. Should you care? No.

I don't really like EF.

It's just a tank-fest. That's all it is. I can't go two steps without getting crushed by 4 tanks all at once.

BF2 Vanilla is the best thing they have.
