i think its all good, unless the rules on the server prohibit it....

base raping is fine, as it keeps the enemy at bay...if you are getting base raped...then you are lucky, you dont have to run around to find action, all you have to do is spawn.....

Yeah, Love it especially when people are screaming base rape, when all of their other flags have been taken by the enemy. Well, duh, where else are we supposed to kill people?

I tried that dot on the monitor thing once, but its hard to use unless it is see through or VERY thin. It mostly just got in the way, so I took it off.

Nothing is sweeter than well cordinatated base rape, & nothing worse than getting raped and all your team8s are spawning in as snipers and waiting on the runway for a jet.

I think we are suppose to have fun, but thats just me. I guess "killing people" is fun...

It really depends, if the last flag is uncap one, i think people should have some respect and "sportmanship" to keep away from it. I pretty much fail to see the point in kicking "them" when they are down, personally, i also find it little bit odd that someone would take pleasure from doing it. Then again, SCORE SCORE SCORE! ME ME ME!

Let me quess, they "deserve" it?

You're asking for ingenuity. Yet you say Bunny Hopping is decent...
Hammering the Space Bar isn't clever or using ingenuity. It's just a cheap tactic.

Placing C4 on a bridge (hiding itso that Tank driver cannot see it), waiting for a tank to roll by and blowing the bridge up (taking out the tank and the bridge) is somewhat using ingenuity. Placing one, well timed Smoke grenade to escape you and mates from a tank/APC, Being a Tank Mg person looking where your tank isn't looking so that you cover 270 degrees (at least) of the tanks veiwing circle...stuff like that is ingenuity..Flanking the enemy, doing all sorts of clever stuff that doesn't really exploit the game is ingenuity..in my book

In my original post I think I mentioend that I believe game play is 3 basic components
ingenuity
twitch skill
tactics/team play

bunny hopping falls under twitch skill.

My point is that if bunny hopping is possible, it is possible for both players.

I am not taking a side on wether bunny hopping should be possible in the game or not. If it is there and gives me an advatage why woudln't I do it? Out of some sort of "macho" attitude of a game? To be honest I only ever did it in a panic situation - no ammo left and just trying to run away until I can grab a kit. I've also had a 45-60 second run going at it with one other person, switching weapons, reloading, jumping around, etc. It does take skill to time all of that etc.

What I am saying is that if it is possible, then it doesn't make sense to not take adavantage of it until the game is changed to remove it or alter it's behavior for better game play.
Calling people a "noob" for using it implies to me that you don't have the skill to do it, or else you would be doing it as it gives an advantage...if done correctly. And yes bunny hopping can be done incorrectly, poorly timed, etc. What about sprint? is that a noob tactic?
I never mastered the dolphin diving thing - others did.. So I adapted other tactics to compensate. I didn't blame them for having the skill to do it.. why would I. I would simply be whinning then.

I do think that the community - through well thought out and presented arguments - enhace the game and DICE will listen. And that is what has contributed to the game getting better and better. But until something like the PKM is altered, you are simply being a fool by not using it when it makes sense. It is available to everyone. I still don't use it that often... but I do when it is going to give me an advantage depending upon what I am going to do.

As far as the copter going from 14 to 8 missles - I don't see the big deal, I pilot the copter a lot - I just have to alter my tactics a bit to wathc the missle and resupply more often.

This game isn't like some MMORPG where you simply need to buy the ubernukelaunchingsword and then be able to kick anyones ass. Everyone gets the same stuff. And if you play well you are rewarded with more options with the unlocks.

perhaps my point of view comes form palying UT for a looooong time. Jumping is part of that game - and it requires skill in timing and dodgin,etc. Once you get good you even perform fakes to make someone shot i n1 direction then in the delay between shots jump to their side and shoot them then double jump right to get away. skill and timing. It is not pounding a space bar by any stretch of the imagaination.

Again - technically bunny hopping possible or not - doesn't matter. i will use it if the other person can use it.
But - for this specific style of game - design wise I could go either way.


If I am getting spawn camped - it's nothing more than a challenge. If we are pushed back that far and losing that badly it makes the game end faster, or you get the one or two lone guys who sneak out, cap a flag and are the frackin heros. either way it's good.
