    My thoughts exactly.

EF is not bad.....not outstanding but not bad.
I think I woulda paid like 8 bucks though.

There are a few things though that need tweaking just a tad.
For instance the tiger attack chopper. I was dissapointed that only one map had it and when I finally get a chance to fly it I noticed a bunch of dudes standing beside it. At first I was wondering why none of them was jumping in the chopper to take off.
So I say "duh oh well" and I eagerly jumped in the cockpit laughing hysterically as I started the engine.
Somebody said "can I be the gunner?"
      So I say "sure!"
And he hops onboard. We're both smiling like idiots as the engine roars up getting ready for take off and yet...those same bunch of dudes was there besides the copter staring at us as if something was bout to happen. I said "wutevar".
Now as is my custom I like to turn the aircraft in a certain direct before I actually lift off. So with the ever ever..........EVERRRRRRR so slightest touch I lightly tap the "A" key so I could rotate to the left a bit before I lift off. So as I everrrrr so lightly tap the key.............
.............OM FRACKIN GAWD!!! THE WHOLE FREAKIN COPTER ROLLED UPSIDE DOWN VIOLENTLY LIKE SOMEONE PICKED US UP AND SLAMMED US ON THE FREAKIN GROUND AS WE SCREAMED LIKE GIRLS BLOODY HORROR AS WE THEN EXPLODED IN A HORRIFYING FIREBALL!!! ARGHHH!!! ARGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then the dudes that was staring at us started to laugh. :|:

So umm DICE dev people could you like umm......tweak the tiger controls a tad hmm?? The controls seems a little.....sensitive. :|:

Re: EF, some good, mostly bad .

I for one like EF a lot. It's a very refreshing change of scenario from Karkand and SF maps (I didn't care much for SF). I'm not a vehicle whore but I like that at least there are enough vehicles for just about everyone on EF maps. Honestly many tanks is better than 1 per team because it's much easier to deal with enemy armor that way, especially if your team has any idea how to play AT or Engineer. I don't know how you guys weren't all sick of Karkand and Ghost Town by now but if you really need more infantry combat please play another game, the BF series has always been about the vehicles and if you don't think so -- look at how f***ing huge the BF1942 maps were; you could not move around on those without a vehicle. The EF maps are also all pretty well balanced -- both teams have equal numbers of armor/air support and both teams have uncapturable bases (I always hated losing a map just because they cap'd every flag whereas their team couldn't have the same done to them). I think Great Wall is really an excellent mix of infantry and armor combat; if you want to drive a vehicle you can; if you want to run around like rambo just go on the walls and the vehicles for the most part won't bother you. The thing I like best about the EF maps: NOT EVERYONE IS RUNNING AROUND WITH A PKM AND TWO MEDICS BEHIND THEM. People are actually trying other classes, FFS finally.

what? rombaft posted this? i expected better rombaft!

please say it aint so! that rombaft has entered the petty EA -hating/ compulsive whining cliche!

really though, despite your nice rank in BF2, you have no authority to determine whether it "failed"

plenty and plenty of people buy it, which is "success" in EA's view, which is all that really matters.

they might claim different, but EA could care less what you think as long as you cough up the dough for every BF2 product.

hell, people spend 50 bucks on zboards! talk about morons!

Yes, I said this, because in game I see people complaining about the maps, maps, servers running dry, people here also have lots of trouble with the maps.
can't help it, but the maps are way to big .

LOL, man, Had the same thing, went for the chopper, other two guys got in, he wanted to lift of, chopper rolled over and crashed, I was like "OMFG, that guy needs some lessons in a chopper" , second chopper spawns, I get in, want to lift of, roll over and crash, big joke .

Once the chopper is airborn it's prety good, there is something strange about the control of it, sometimes, it reacts very fast, and sometimes it just won't pull up anymore

Re: EF, some good, mostly bad .

Overall, EF is as good as I expected it to be. Unfortunately, I expected it to be good but not great. I enjoy any new maps/weapons. Since I have been playing SF lately, I've become more interested in infantry based combat with less vehicular intrusion. This expansion is obviously vehicle heavy. Luckily, I was a very good pilot when I was playing vanilla BF2. Now that there are two more maps with substantial air power and tons of ground targets, I'll probably be doing alot more flying. Unfortunately, the AA and A to A missiles have become ultra accurate. There's alot less skill involved in air to air combat. It's all about who spots whom first. If you're not a pilot, you'd better be a tanker when it comes to these maps. There's not a ton of opportunity for a foot soldier to make a huge difference. Great Wall is both incredibly fun and exceedingly frustrating. The combat along the walls involves alot of strategy but once you hit the ground, armor is again king. So, while it's not the greatest expansion pack I've seen, it's a decent fit and fun enough to play. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go practice my flying again....

open maps wont be too bad for me -- i like sniping, but they marketed this an infantry pack, while AF would cater for vehicle lovers. It makes no sense!

Remember too, folks, that these maps are meant to be in a ROTATION. As in, mixed in with regular vanilla maps. These give a nice change of pace. If I had to ONLY play Eforces maps, then, yeah, it would suck. But considering, the whole rotation, it will be a lot of fun. More variety....

uhhhh no. Have you ever seen a server hosting both Vainilla & SF maps all in the same rotation? NO because the games do not work that way.

You are wrong; EF and Vanilla can be mixed because EF is a booster pack not an expansion pack and is designed to do so.

all good points have been made here.. but remember it only cost's $10 bucks 6 pounds, in the uk... and yes a bit heavy with armor and some air... but still not bad, if you want city maps play mash and Karkand till your eyes bleed... if you want to mix it up a bit... then Euro... is that mix... i had a blast using the tanks and busting them open with the AT kit... me and a buddy went tank sniping... i was AT and he was Supply.... hell with a medic we could stay out in the feild all day.... the only thing that would have made it perfect was better air cover.. the damm helos would pick us off from time to time... and gotta watch for snipers.... other then that EA did a good job.... no bugs practicly no lag... and the look and sounds are a wellcome sight!... Smoke screen sounds and looks so cool you can hear the burning wells and tanks.. and the black smoke....remember the 1rst gulf war...need I say more!

Well I used to feel guilty scoring points with vehicles in vanilla - too easy - but these new maps make it clear thats what you're supposed to do so I'm driving tanks again (and man have I lost skill since 42/DC lol). This is the good part. But yeah it seems totally daft to me that we didnt get at least One dedicated infantry map in this expansion pack along the lines of the 'MEC triumvirate'. Chinese have cities too (but I guess that would require new statics which was probably outside the budget window)
