Is EA discriminating against some countries?

    This is just a question,

EA downloader only works for 19 countries... So some are so lucky to live in those countries that EA seems to favor... What about other countries? What about EA customers in other than those 19 countries..

Do they have to wait for weeks to be able to play Euro Force and why?

Does EA care about what they (customers) think about their service for the OTHER countries?

EA does not even mention any country limit on their website.. they let you sign up first and
give them all your payment details... not untill you order they sure let you know by red letters that you live a wrong country

Is it fun to really **** off paying customers.. or is it just an a mistake?

By the way I'm from Iceland.. the 5th richest (per capital) country in the world. So payment is no problem from here

    1. I'd wait until the game if officially out before complaining too much.

    2. On a French BF2 forum there's a poster from France, living in Iceland, who bought EF with his French credit card.

Official release is Wednesday, March 15th, why not just wait and see instead of accusing EA of discrimination

Well I had to wait for 2 weeks untill I could buy Special Forces at higher price while the favorable others could simply download it cheap and start playing..

I expect no change.. I'm willing to bet my CPU on this..

A lot of eastern countries are blocked from buying EF because they have no copyright laws. A lot of online purchases are the same especially when it comes to software.

I'm not aware of any limitation to other countries. Some are not listed, but selecting one that uses your same language should still work. For example, New Zealand could select Australia.

If anyone can confirm for me that they are blocked at some point from purchase due to their country, please post your country and what point you are blocked.

I see sales in the system for countries not listed such as Canada and New Zealand for example. So it seems to me it works.

Well thank you for that info.. Iceland is a member of the
European Economic Union.. And for that reason sure has copyright laws..

I guess New Zealand is no different and many other counties..

By the way.. Those eastern europian countries could not be members of EU
                    without copyright laws...

Well that's EA for you. I am guessing the guy that was supposed to find out which countries didn't have copyright laws instead went and listed the countries that he knew had copyright laws because it was easier.

He probably though icland was to backwards because its light 5 months of the year. :|:

If you recall this post it answers the questions about those countries

If they want to release in some countries before others, its their choice. Exactly the same thing happens with movies, CDs, books etc.

Thank you Shawn for answering.. Well the language is Icelandic.. I can
chose Iceland when I sign up in the in the member and billing info.. but when I go to into EA downloader I'm told to choose a region and no matter what region I choose it always comes with a message that for europe for examble it says:

                              EUROPE ONLY.
Prices vary by region. Select your region above first for applicable price.

For your info.. Iceland belongs to Europe (like as an economic region).. allthough we dont belong to the European Union (Same with Norway)

So is this something EA can Fix since it seems like a mistake?

I'm sorry for the harsh language before. I've just spent way too long time today trying to buy that package and got a bit grumpy.

I thank others for their incredible knowledge about Iceland.. its always as amusing
