I've found a new way to play assault, lie on a hill and 'snipe' at people.
There are too many snipers in this game as it is.

I'd rather have a sniper assaulting and taking flags ANY DAY over one who sits around and does nothing for the team ...

Sometimes you have to play the sniper kit like that, the best place to sniper is from behind the enemy where they least expect it. So you kinda have to go assault to get through the lines around flank them.
I did have a one to one with guy round a corner the other day and just blindly shot at him without zoom and managed to kill him, only the second time thats ever happened.:cry:

If you mec or chinese and you can get the semi automatic rifles then these are lethal at medium range, a match for any assault rifle or LMG.

You forget that those sniper rifles (like all other sniper rifles) are horribly inaccurate without the scope...

I'm kinda stuck playin sniper at the mo. I just bought a new wireless usb stick that is a POS for BF2, as in a 1 sec connection problem approx every minute, meaning that any close quarter action would realy **** me off... so i keep my distance & regularly fall off buildings instead...

I agree with you on that there are a lot of snipers in many of the games, but half of them aren't even decent shots. I consider myself a good sniper (notice good!) but i've seen hundreds of snipers that think they can pwn with a semi-auto and end up hitting the ground around me, upon which i return with a headshot from the L96 (which i love). Really its just if they're are competent shots are not that decides how they play, and if they get any points.

Ha ha, I normally only counter-snipe instead of out and out sniping. I love teaching noobs that the most obvious spot isn't always the best spot.

I've got one of the my best K/D ratio's with the sniper rifle from doing that.

I just love it when people try and tell you "this is the only right way" to play a certin kit. In some situations doing the unexpected works wonders. I agree with revolution, give the guy a break here. He is begining to learn a very important fact, The sniper kit is about more than a one shot kill. Have you ever followed a squad around and made sure no one flanked them during a flag copture? When do you jump and run away? Do you ever run away? Can you escape when being chased by a player with more armor? Can you give a team mate cover fire during a flag capture, even though you are being shot at? See what I told you its more than getting on top of a building and going for head shots a lot more. I really hope you dont think so, that puts you into my favorite class of sniper. Its called "easy kill" or maybe "my next kill". . . . . . . .Red. . . . .Whos Next?
