lol if only that made any senseOriginally posted by GlowStickyIf you're under the age of whatever it is you are, don't post again. Ever.
And no, laser designators would just make bombing too easy.
i thought this had been discussed to death - the reason it was not included was for the same reason that the souped up attack seahawk wasnt included - balance
it was going to be a special forces item and frankly nobody would have played anything else - it would have been like having artillery on tapComment

i doubt it - i really dont think that DICE ever anticipated the level of intentional tking that would happen ingameOriginally posted by poisonsoulThe reason laser designators probably didn't make it was probably as a precaution to keep TKing asses from aiming it at teammates.
it was removed because
a - it would have made the spec ops far too overpowered
b - they may never have got it working satisfactorilyComment

Re: laser designator. i know why it was not made!
The SIMRAD, in the state it is in as released by EA in the retail (but not included with any kits), has a screwed up HUD. Furthermore, the actual code for what makes the laser designation work (projecting a target object to whereever the SIMRAD user's crosshair is) doesn't work in network play for some reason.Originally posted by an army medicbecuause of all the crapy bombers, who would miss the target by about ohhh. lets say a mile and kill a huge group of allies. a noobs would whine about it. so ea wunted as little cry babys as possible. but that faild on that.
It seems like I read somewhere that the reason they didn't add it would be because it wouldn't be fun or something, believe that was from DICE? Don't quote me, but it was something absurdly silly in an interview early on in BF2's post-release life.Comment

Re: laser designator. i know why it was not made!
I recall from an interview, they pulled it out because even when the designator was spotting one vehicle, it might track to another vehicle if it got painted.
I am sure it was designed with the same code that the original AA was written with. So it would take a couple patches to get it working right.
Personally, I think it would be a nice addition. You can say all you want they dumb the game down, but it would be nice to have "more features" then less.Comment
