Re: .50 cal Sniper
I agree with him.
Most of you guys that $hot down his idea have probably never played socom 2. I have.
The recoil of both rifles was incredible, they had swaying scopes (not much tho)...and were one hit kill to the torso. And most importantly, more people ran around with m14s than anything else....
Honestly, with the pkm the way it is now (seen planewhores PKM vid?) the sniper class might as well not even exist. Full auto and unlimited ammo plus insane accuracy is MUCH > than one shot 98% dmg and long reload.....
If they lowered the accuracy this would not have as serious of an effect on gameplay as most of you guys assume....
First of all, I'd like to say that I do have above average skill, as of lately anyway. This is because I realized the accuracy of the M24 and the fact that I turned the sensitivity down on my mouse which helped tremendously. I have no problem getting headshots now. That's not the point though. What's the purpose of having a .50 cal in the game that is this weak? To shoot through pits? If your game is based on this, then there's a problem. Let me turn in my unlock if this is how it's going to be. The M24 is easier to use anyways.
The PKM can squeeze off 3 rounds in the time it takes to shoot one round of the .50, yet it can kill someone so what's the difference? If there's 99% of the people running around as support and people can live with it, then why can't you live with "possibly" more snipers? What would be the problem with using transport vehicles as their purpose?
Also, I never used realism as an argument. I even stated that I have come to terms with this although I DID have different impressions of the game before I bought it because of how they marketed it.
Yes, SOCOM 2 had sway in it but you also couldn't be spotted, scanned, or UAV'd either. I even said that accuracy could be compromised a little bit, as well.
I'm simply offering something to think about and if you don't agree then you are more than welcome to post so (hopefully without much hostility) or ignore this thread. In any case, as it is now there is very little reason to use the unlock that I wasted over the M24.
