yes it can be used on a ranked server but doesnt really serve any purpose. It was meant for private matches

It can actually have a purpose. If people start missbehaving enough it can be warranted to pause the game and then spam warnings from BF2RA so there's no chance that people doesn't read it. The other way is to change the map and the worst way is to kick 1/3 of the server population.

i was in a wake server...the admin paused the game to go pee...

it was hilarious cuz in the corner it kept saying

"Admin is currently peeing" over and over again...

That's pretty funny but it's not a smart thing to do if you want people to keep playing on your server.

Yeh heh ive played a game on an RS before then it paused..., was weird .. ****loadsa action then nothing .. tumbleweed ..., bang back into it .. was like something from the bf2 matrix :P

Pausing the server has been around since BF1942. It's not new, it's just a rarely used function.

i dont see how the pause function is going to be abused....why would an admin pause his/her own server without reason? wouldnt that just be disrupting themselves?

i thik its cool how admin have the god-like ability to stop time for u guys...101

Tactical Gamer is an unranked server, with a very active clan. I play on their server about 50% of the time, just because the teamwork is so good. They really do a good job of squad communication and coordination.

It doesn't surprise me to see them use that feature then.

Wow, I really wish this was used more just to make examples of people. It would only need to happen a few times before people learned to respect the server rules. It is great for a real show of force when an admin is present.

Very Kewl and a good idea for those N()()bs That like to TK for aircraft and tanks.
I will make note that my admins on <}US{> Community server understand how to pause to kick or ban players that do not RESPECT server ROE and regulations.

man, i bet once a lot of admins find out about this they will be pausing the game all the time

I doubt it. People will leave if the admins are 12 year old preteens with rich parents.
