yes it can be used on a ranked server but doesnt really serve any purpose. It was meant for private matches
It can actually have a purpose. If people start missbehaving enough it can be warranted to pause the game and then spam warnings from BF2RA so there's no chance that people doesn't read it. The other way is to change the map and the worst way is to kick 1/3 of the server population.
Yeh heh ive played a game on an RS before then it paused..., was weird .. ****loadsa action then nothing .. tumbleweed ..., bang back into it .. was like something from the bf2 matrix :P
i dont see how the pause function is going to be abused....why would an admin pause his/her own server without reason? wouldnt that just be disrupting themselves?
i thik its cool how admin have the god-like ability to stop time for u guys...101
Tactical Gamer is an unranked server, with a very active clan. I play on their server about 50% of the time, just because the teamwork is so good. They really do a good job of squad communication and coordination.
It doesn't surprise me to see them use that feature then.
Wow, I really wish this was used more just to make examples of people. It would only need to happen a few times before people learned to respect the server rules. It is great for a real show of force when an admin is present.

I will make note that my admins on <}US{> Community server understand how to pause to kick or ban players that do not RESPECT server ROE and regulations.
