Yepp sometimes the icon will even show your enemies ammo status, or health-status if you're a medic
I guess it's a bug but really nice to know how many times you have to shoot someone before he dies, or to know for certain that the opponent has only 9mm left

Whether supply or medic, I drop bags like a bag dropping fool. However, when I see the icons for medic or ammo, the troops (many times) are too far away or across that biiiig open space where the firefight is taking place. A dead medic or supply troop only helps to add another ticket loss.

However, there is NO excuse for not dropping bags and staying up with your squad.

Man, this topic is one of my biggest complaints. I can't tell you how many times I've called for ammo or first aid, only to be ignored by a support/medic. On Karkand, I asked for ammo, saw a support symbol 20 ft from me. So, I run to him at square. He runs around the building like 10 times. I follow him, keep spamming "I'm bingo on ammo" Finally, I pistol him in the leg. He turns around, and is like "WTF? why you shooting me?" I said, "If you're going to play as support, re-arm people". He replies, "I was busy"

Another Karkand round, I need health bad. Down to only 1 bar. Basically, if someone spit on me, I'd die. So, I call out for medic. I see the only medic. I'm near train wreck, he's near square. I keep calling and moving towards him. I finally get near him, he starts going towards US main. I had to run behind him INTO THEIR MAIN! He was completely oblivious to my calls for first aid. Fortunately, no one else was in their main, but he still wouldn't give out the health. So, I had to do the obvious.

TK. Switch kits, drop health, switch back, leave that bastard there to rot!

Seriously! I can understand if someone is AFK, and just standing there, but c'mon! They're running around and shooting, but ignoring requests for ammo/health.

same problem with n00b medics aswell, stand beside em, ask atleast 5 timmes, he should hear it clearly coz if i stand beside him he hears the voice direct and not via radio.
i'm not the type of person that teamkilles for that, but damn i can get pretty frustrated....

TK'ing for it is lame - request a crate from commander if you have to...or play on a different server that actually has some quality players.

Being able to grab their backpacks, running away laughing with a evil grin on your face and taking ammo from the backpack would solve all.

I've TK'd for it before as well, but I didn't simply just run out of ammo and shoot the nearest support guy.

I was running a nice little anti tank anti APC and anti vehicle battle, I'd blow a Vodnik and an APC and landed a hit on the tank and was begging a guy for ammo.

HELLO IT IS YOUR ROLE TO RESUPLY ME, IDIOT. Then the tank killed me as I lamely watched it with my pistol out.

Same thing second round, but I pulled out my shotgun and blatted him.

I will support anyone who does this manouver. If everyone wants to whore the improved support weapony, you could at least share the ammo love a bit.

You get a fee point, you get to maybe not die if I kill the tank, and you get my thanks.

While joining a squad is definately a good thing, sometimes you get cut off from them, or they all die and you are left alone.

I REFUSE to suicide myself just to get a new set of ammo if it would take you half a second to throw a bag on the floor.

No, to do that they would have to put the PKM asides, and that thing is heavy, while being so tired in the arms after such extreme sniping

I play support almost exclusively and have run into just the opposite problem recently. Last night playing Mashtuur as MEC the US were rushing the Mosque in mass and I and one other guys are trying to defend the flag when another guy, who's Spec Ops and apparantly want more C4, runs up to me screaming for ammo. When I didn't give it to him right away, as i'm still trying to hold the flag, he stabs me for a TK and as i'm laying there dead he and the other guys I was defending with get shot and we end up losing the flag.

While in most cases I agree with you guys, maybe you should make sure there isn't something else going on before you get mad at the support guys who's not dropping ammo bags. Generally, I spam the things all over the place if there's not a major scuffle going on at the time.

I'm totally with you on that! No problems if they are engaged, but running around a building over and over again? Or chasing someone from one end of the map to the other...

Normally, I don't TK someone, but if they are acting that way on purpose, they need to be relieved of their kit, or kicked/banned.

I asked for a crate, and never got one from the commander, and this was before the patch where you could see where crates are.

That I don't mind. And like PBA says, just say no and I'll feel a little less put out. But they blatantly ignore you while you are face to face with them, screaming for ammo and there isn't a bloody target for them to shoot in bloody miles.

I have TK'd for ammo one other time, and I'd just saved this punk PKM'ers ass buy blowing up a tank and shooting a humvee and then he ran away, while I was chasing him trying to get some more ammo to finish the humvee. At least reward my efforts darn you.

And calling for a supply highlights your position for the emeny, it takes longer, and sometimes it just isn't available. This is why Dice included these walking ammocans.

Was playing as a sniper on FuShe, we managed to get the refinery (I think it's called that, the bit with the tall ladder to the small platform). I was out of ammo so I called for some. Round the corner was a Support guy, so I ran to him. He completely ignored me so I chased him around for like 2 minutes shouting "Need Ammo", standing in front of him etc. generally getting in his way.

He then decides to climb that tall ladder so I follow, get to the top he finally drops me some ammo. "About time" I thought but thanked him anyway. Needed to get back in position quickly, the Chinese were coming; so instead of sliding down the ladder I jumped over the edge, parachute failed, I died...

I wasn't a happy bunny that day
