Loki, yes its true that I wasnt on their clans team and they were dying alot from the claymores. I have wondered what would have happened had I been on their team and doing the same thing.

So wht are u spose to do to get the explosive badge, wait intill an enemy is right next to you, type a message, "hey dude, im about to kill u with an explosive device, be advised that u will die horribly." Whts wrong with leaveing c4 and mines for ground pounders and tanks/apc/jeeps to come.

That was the reason that section about C4 chucking from hawk was put in there, then when they realised the public outrage over the matter was so big they sh1t thier pants and took it out replacing it with the current ruling.

Whatever, I agree with the admins. As tempted as I am to type a longer, more mature post, I'll just sit with the fact that playing for stats is lame. Statpadding is not the correct term for it, but it's damn close.

Whatever melts your butter, I guess. Don't take offence to this post. I would have kicked you. All comes down to personal preference.

Its so easy to see a 37 kills with the same weapon as 'whoring'. But one must take into account that the person is going for a badge.

Going for a badge can in no way be classed as 'padding'. Its within the rules of the game. Otherwise the badge wouldn't exist.
Even 'whoring' is a bad name to tag someone who is honestly going for a hard (very hard) badge.

But to the topicstarter. I feel your pain. I nearly got kicked a few times going for the same badge myself. But understand the rage of the guy you just killed for the 11th time with a claymore. In that level of rage, fairness will go right out the window.

You were stat padding man. You purposely laid claymores and mines all over the place. I know it sucks to hear it but they are right for the first kick, I don't understand the second kick. Also, I understand as well that the badge is impossible to get without padding.

Please explain more in depth how it is stat padding. I am not conviced at all (yet).

3Libras, you might be right. Part of the fun that BF2 offers over other similiar games and even its predecessor is the badges and ranking system. Im sure that those badges are meant for us to try and achieve them. You could say that playing for badges is lame, but thats part of the fun of the game.

no, stat padding is trying to get stats by unfair means for instance working with multipule people on both teams to kill/rearm/revive/heal/repair

I'd rather have active admins then deal with people trying to get unrealistic badges/medals on pub servers, honestly.

yeap, the game would be much better off withour badges/medals/ribbons.

Yeah that would suck...exploiting the game to get a badge...as opossed to what? to get a badge :p

but i can see why the claymores made them mad, you said yourself you purposefully held back from updating the patch so you could use an extra 3 claymores at once....

Dilla, thats not at all what I said. I said "I knew the newest patch would limit the claymores from 5 to 2 the next day".
There werent any servers running the new patch as it was supposed to be released the next day.

IMO, if you are playing the game like normal, you are not padding.

Padding is going off somewhere, in a remote corner of the map with a few buddies, and claymore/shock paddling, knifing, pistol, etc...

If you are throwing claymores everywhere in proper defense, that is not padding at all. You are just playing the game with an emphasis on explosives.

Lucky, I dont know if youre right. But if purposefully going for a badge is padding, then when I was going for the Expert Knife and allways had the knife out...then I was padding.

Also if you were driving a tank an mistakingly killed 24 guys and you were given the expert armour badge would that mean that you could get kicked and have your stats wiped?

Look I don't swear, it's not nice and it's crude...

stat padding = 2 players from each side working together to get a bunch of free kills in a faster way to get a badge high score gold medal blah blah blah.

using 1.2 5 clay's at a time is not his fualt EA GAVE THE OPPERTUNITY TO USE 5 CLAYS.

so whats the point in giving the chance to lay 5 clays if its not intended?????

hear's a scenario for you...................

i play a whole round as sniper and get 40kills with my riffle
some guy plays whole round as sniper and gets 40kills with claymore

and just for the sake of it admin1 gets killed by me 12 times and admin2 gets killed 12 times by claymore's from other player.


both exacaly the same number of kills and both killed admins 12 times
would it be fair to kick the claymore player only or both.

dont tell me that a sniper with 40 kills iar and 12 kills to a admin is breaking the roa,

thats why i say it wasnt stat padding it was good thinking a bit of good luck which ended unfairly.

this may sound like im flaming you "i am not" just trying to make you see it in another way.

Wow... I can't believe i read this whole thing.

As for stat padding - that's bogus. If you can be called a stat-padder for killing people with an excessive amount of claymores, then you should also be called a stat-padder for killing an excessive amount of people with ANYTHING. Those admins were just making excuses.

Fair enough guys. (: Wasn't trying to assault anyone, I just don't care so much for stats. Whatever is fun for you is cool. I'm not really badass enough to kick people anyway, though it would bother me if someone went crazy with explosives just to get the badge and it resulted in claymores all over and c4 tactics and stuff.
