    Re: Last man standing

hmm that might be the case. I have seen messages from dead people whilst alive, but that was when we still had flags to spawn at.

When I was the last man alive on our team, the first time I noticed was when there was a vote kick against me by my team to get my attention; my squad mates on mics could not be heard and no messages appeared on my screen. I parachuted down from my hiding place and died (glided past my own damn claymore pre 1.2) and once dead I could see LOTS of messages exchanged between our dead team mates which I could not see earlier, they were obviously in the middle of a conversation :)

So it appears what we've observed so far is:
    1. Team dead messages can be seen by live members if your team has a flag left
    2. Team dead messages cannot be seen by live members if your team has no flags left
    3. Squad dead VOIP cannot be heard by live squad members if you have no flags left

Can anybody verify if these are accurate?

We're just going from observations in game, but since the game conditions change so quickly its hard to know if we're accurate or not

Maybe you can still communicate if you're 'critically wounded' and not yet dead (i.e. able to be revived)?

Your squad CAN hear you while you are dead. Trust me on that, I talk to my friend all the time when I am dead dead. I mean the dead dead that happens when you can't spawn and 15 seconds are over. So you can talk to them, but you might not know this because the little green speaker voice button...thingy...lol...that shows you are talking does not show up. But, as long as you are holding that button, it functions just as if you were alive.

Trust me on this, this has happened many times to me with only me being the last guy alive and my friend talking to me or visa versa.

            Re: Last man standing

Were you using the BF2 builtin VOIP or other VOIP service such as teamspeak?

Also does it work for commander / other squad leader chat via "com.channel" or for in your squad only?

When i've tried to speak over VOIP whilst dead my fellow deceased squad members say they can hear me but my little speaker icon colour is swirling green-red and no one alive seems to hear me

              Re: Last man standing

after my earlier post i ended up playing a round as usmc commander. We were doing great..then bamn..the tv station was taken..followed by all the other cappable flags. There were alot of guys still alive but one of my more "vocal" squad leaders was dead and couldn't spawn. He informed me over the in game voip that once i lost the tv station it was over.
to make a long story short..I capped the hotel flag..the game continued..but we lost something like 41-0.
So.. no flags under my teams control. But I could hear a dead squad leader on voip.

I was following my SL, he got shot and then I heard him say "Sniper on the roof".
