Uncapturable carrier, with essex for air defense
      vs
capturable air field and a crappy igla station that has its view blocked by a building

      600 rounds in f35 vs 300 in j10

F-35 can fly better low speed and i've seen newbs even hover over an enemy base like a helicopter

I think its fair, take your beating like a man. Ever notice the biggest whiners are on the USMC team? I guess their egos are getting demolished everytime they get bombed/shotdown by a mec or chinese even though they have many more advantages.

If anything one would think the challenge of using 'inferior' equipment against the J-10 would be more stimulating than simply taking the best plane on the rape maps and "Winning the game for the team all by yourself".

Better yet, as Princess stated, go buy a true air combat flight sim. These endless "I'm quite the pilot and really wish I had some worthy opponents" threads are quite tiring to wade through..

You're a good pilot with arcade physics, if you were bleeding energy, stalling and having to actually land to rearm and refuel I'm sure the story would be quite different.

Wake is not the only map in the game chief.

Awesome, good luck ever getting behind one to make use of those extra rounds.

Dietrich the problem with your suggestion is I'm not "challenging" myself, I'm simply facing impossible odds, regardless of how good I may be. It's like saying to that karate master, why do you break boards if it's so easy? Why not move up to breaking 5 inch thick steel bars with your bare hands? The answer is obvious.

I'm not a player who likes to put myself at a severe crippling disadvantage (and hinder my enjoyment) versus an inferior enemy in a superior vehicle an attempt to prove something that I already know to be true. I'm a pretty mellow guy, but I'll say in the BF2 series flying against a J-10 absolutely infuriates me. So I simply avoid that situation and pick the J-10. Not that I want some gross advantage over the other pilots, but rather it is the best option for me until DICE provides me with what I truly desire, an even playing field.

I can't wait to play a game of Wake 2007 post 1.12 on the USMC side and give the Chinese teama some severe pain, but until they've balanced the fighters I'm not ready to put myself in that situation.

Subtle balances would be asking for each plane to be different yet still balanced. Anyone with common sense gave up on the idea of DICE actually pulling that off a long time ago. We are asking for each plane to get the same flight model. That's anything but subtle. It's the cheap and easy way out, but realistically it would seem it's the only thing DICE would actually be capable of, and at this point we are willing to take it.

Same answer. It doesn't need to be any more focused on flying than it is now. Just give each plane the same flight model, and bam, instant balance.

Completely wrong. This is a huge issue. It's actually less of an issue for a very skilled pilot, because if they have a huge skill gap over the enemy pilot they can still beat them regardless of plane. However, if you have pilots of equal skill the J-10 wins. If you have a pilot that is "above average" in an American jet and someone who is "average" or even "below average" in the J-10, the J-10 will allow the lesser pilot to win much more often than they deserve. This is not balanced.

                  Excellent idea.

I'll skip the over analysing of PlaneWhores posts and skip straight to the part where I say...

PlaneWhore, you're asking for the kind of fine tuned balancing in BF2 that you're simply NOT going to get from the devs, you're playing a game which encompases land, air and sea battles with massive variance in all these areas.

You should be playing a proper flight sim game if you wish subtle balances like this to be taken seriously.

I think you're a good player, maybe even a fantastic player, but I think most people here know that you're only playing BF2 only in planes because you can use your extreme skill in one area to dominate all the n00bs and ultimatly end the day with a massive score ratio.

Truth is theres not many players of your callibre and if im playing a map where you're ever flying around nailing 100% of the landing boats on wake 2007 then i'll just leave the server, and join another where theres not someone doing that. Theres not enough pilots that good for me to have actually run into one...ever, suffice to say I've never had a problem finding a server where that kind of lameness is going on.

                    So to recap:
                    • Don't bother asking for these kind of subtle balances, you're highly unlikely to get them
                    • Instead go play a flight simulator which is focused enough on flying to provide the finely balanced experience you're after
                    • Stop assuming that theres many other players like you who can fly around next to unopposed, theres not, this is not on the grand scale of things, a big issue
                    • Stop posting this rubbish, you look more like an egotistical prat everytime you do, we all know you like to slip in how good you are at every opportunity.
Princess, you're confusing the concept of "fine tuned balance" or "subtle balances", with my suggestions, which are essentially "FFS, just make all the planes the same!". Pretty simple. Even the rocket scientists working for DICE can figure that one out. And why shouldn't I suspect to get what I want? It's clear to me now DICE listens to people on the forums, and I personally have no doubt they read a few of my posts and perhaps even took the time to watch my dogfighting satire. How can you be so sure one of the developers from DICE won't read this thread and say "Hey, that's a really good idea, I think I'll bring that up at the next brainstorming session".

I want a well balanced game. Don't tell me to "go play a flight sim" because I'll tell you right back to go play counterstrike if all you enjoy is running around on Karkand like some mindless automaton. I'm dynamic. I fly planes, I pilot helicopters, I drive tanks, I pound the ground, which gives me a very balance perspective on this game. And when I fly a plane, I get to interact with real people, on big servers. If I wanted to fly a nonstop flight from LA to NYC then flight sims might be a better option, or maybe if I wanted calcuate a ballistic forumla to make my bombs land spot on, again a flight simulator would be a better game.

This thread is far from rubbish, in fact I think it's the only thread I've ever posted where about 95% of the people who read are actually in full agreeance with me. Either you're protecting your advantage and enjoy flying the J-10 Princess, or you're an idiot (I suspect at least this part to be correct).

We arent talking about flying a transcon 767 in FS2004.We're talking air to air in modern combat aircraft.

                              You want a balanced experience?

No map is fair, that's part of the fun but Wake since 1.2 is very very unbalanced. A good chopper pilot has a chance to get to shore on Dalian at the start of a round the airspace is not hostile. If he caps South Docks and his team man AA and he is quick to react to a J10 he can make the J10 pilot work a little for his kill.

On Wake the choppers are entering hostile airpspace, potentially manned AA sites, he has no cover to speak of and if I'm flying a F35 I can't go chasing round J10's even if the pilot is very bad, the ground AA is lethal. Take into account lower armour on choppers as well.

Add to that the J10's huge advantage and I can't even do much to win the early battles around the island with the arty on it.

If I'm US against Chinese and they have a decent pilot I'm back to just trying to pull him off my team, I can't shoot the guy down. Take into account the nature of most BF2 players in general, no points = no can do, overall you have a balance problem.

Take your beating like a man
You never play US? Don't you want a balanced game?

Honestly I'm against change hate the way DICE can't seem to make their minds up but this really needs to happen.
