    ATi Users Rejoice!

After installing patch 1.2 I've had terrible ingame stuttering and FPS drops to rock bottom. The game was nearly unplayable most of the time. Level load times also were longer than damnation itself. And verifying client data? Might as well build a small car in the time it takes to finish.

    Post patch 1.21.

0 stuttering. No FPS drops. Levels load FAST and seamlessly. Verifying client data is down to a respectable 10ish seconds.

Im inclined to say that 1.21 has offered the best graphical performance of any version of BF2 to date.

Thats not what many others have said, but I am glad to see 1.21 has helped at least one person.

I haven't had many problems with my setup, but when I installed the new 6.3 catalyst drivers and the 1.21 patch, things did seem...smoother.
agp x800xt AIW if it matters.

That damn verifying client time better have gone down. I can load up CS:S and play a couple maps by the time it's usually done.

                    Glad to here it CApt.

I definatly noticed that the shaders re-optimized after the 1.21 install.
So thats a dead givaway there playing with something in there.
Hope I get the same resaults as u did.
I know they said somthing about 1.4 shaders in the pach but
we all know the time spent on moldy oldy 1.4 will be nill to nothing.

Mybe ther leaning towards ATI now that they have pulled ahead of Nvidia with the X1900XTX. Not saying they would optomize for that perticuler card.

Since only a handfull own one.

Bf2 "optimizes shaders" _after each patch_ because it makes a new folder for the files in $MY_DOCS/bf2/mods/cache prolly because they dont want it to eff up using old&new "shaders" together .

I installed the patch and now my bf2 won't even start up. Just a blank screen and then crash to the desktop.

software firewall ? it changes the bf2.exe so you prolly need to allow it connect out again ..

delete/rename your BF2 folder or just the profiles in My Documents..then retrieve your account. that helped me when I installed 1.2 and it didn't start anymore.

I haven't tried the patch yet. But using the ATI Omega Drivers smoothed out my fps on both Special Forces, and normal BF2.

Here's a link if you want it.
