    Re: ATi Users Rejoice!

1.2 I had bad lag and crash to desktop on startup. Got the latest Omega drivers for ATI, totally smooth and no crashes. The stock Catalyst Drivers are a problem for me.

    Now:
    AMD XP 2700+
    1Gb
X850pro AGP Soft Modded to X850XT PE
    Gigabyte KV7N 400 Pro Ver 2.0
    SB Audigy 2

    Soon to be:
    AMD64 37000+ Overclocked to FX55 Specs
    1Gb
    Epox 9NDA3+
X850pro AGP Soft Modded to X850XT PE
    SB Audigy 2

I just installed the update, upgraded my video drivers from Catalyst 5.9 to 6.3. The result: After playing online for about 10 minutes, lagging seems marginally better, but I'm still getting the annoying stutters. They seem to occur every 5-10 seconds or so.

Maybe I should do more testing before drawing any conclusions? Maybe there's some setting that needs to be tweaked? :hmm:

Have you tried setting your PCI latency to 64? This worked for me. I have an AIW X800XT AGP. Try downloading ATI Tray Tools if you don't have it already. You can set your PCI latency from there.

x800 Pro here and I have had zero performance issues since the game came out, it has never noticeably changed from patch to patch.

Am I just lucky? Or is it that I put the game to the right settings for my computer and have not tried to overdo it and stress things out?

I have an AMD athlon 64 3200, radeon 1600pro and 1 gb ram, have always ran BF2 on highest settings, 1024x768, never had problems :)

Thanks for the tip. That gives me some hope at least, that and the option to try the Omega drivers.
