Forgive me for being way out of date concerning this series, but does anyone know if it's still first-person view like Morrowind was?

I like this game genre, but I just couldn't play more than a couple of hours of Morrowind. I just didn't like the first-person perspective. (Too much Ultima, D&D, Baldur's Gate, and NWN playing, I guess, to like anything other than third-person view. :p)

Just watch the trailers and previews on IGN man, you can play 1st or 3rd person

I will be picking this up as well.

Personally I directly fell in love with it when I saw the physics and such, it's just like a new HL2 set in the fantasy lands. Surely it will require a well rig to run, thus I got my new grahpics card a few days ago (Geforce 7800GS) and all ready for the hotness :)

You can indeed play in first person as well as third person view while in-game, unlike Morrowind. And there are just too many changes from that game that in my opinion it can't even be compared, we will have to wait and see for our selves though once the game is out.

Morrowind has 1st and 3rd person view in game. But thats neither here nor there. Whats important is Oblivion comes out in what, 4 days? They've been posting in game videos counting down the days on Gamershell and Fileplanet and i cant wait to visit the town that was in the last vid.
