Im hoping the omega 6.3s cure a bit of my random fps probs, some days im flyin the next im not, prolly has to do with my p4. and mixed ram in single channel.
I am now getting a CTD with my 9800 Pro when I try to start the game. It loaded yesterday alright and I was playing for a little while; weird i'll tweak some ATI settings and see what happens.
hey guys im sry for askin really stupid questions im not that bright when it cms to graphics card and stuff? whats omega? and how do i find out which verison i have? any answers will be helpful
presidentr, there are no dumb questions. The Omega they are referring to is basically a very talented dude who takes the official ATI video card drivers and modifies them. He makes changes to the regular drivers which are supposed to improve performance and many people use them instead of the official drivers.
I do not use third party drivers, like the Omega's for example. So if you didn't go to his website (or several others) and download them, you won't have any Omega drivers installed.

If you do decide to install them, PLEASE be careful and completely clean out the drivers you had previously before installing these... My drivers started conflicting and after many headaches I just decided to reformat
I have an X1600 Pro and the 6.3 drivers cause graphic distortion on the hand when i sprint and sometimes when i walk too. So i just reverted back to the 6.2 drivers for now. I will wait for omega's or the 6.4 drivers!
After installing 1.2->1.21 I had CTD right after selecting my class at the start. I wiped out BF2 and reinstalled using the full 1.2 and the 1.2->1.21 patches and all is well.
Bump this thread to try and get all ATI users who have serious hard problems to report your settings and the steps that can be repeated to produce the problem again. Provide screenshots or logs of the activity that goes on your system if possible.

I hear EA are changing there intro noise from "EA challange everything" to "EA LAG is everything". I'm not bitter.... honest.
when you dl omega drivers, do you have to have the ATI drivers installed first or just the omega ones.
If you want ot download the Omegas the best thing to do is to follw these steps:
1. Uninstall the Catalyst drivers and Control Panel or CCC.
2. Run your Crap Cleaner (www.ccleaner.com) can for issues and fix.
3. Reboot into safe mode and run your Driver Cleaner. Clean the ATI and the ATI CCC.
4. Reboot back into your normal desktop. Then it will tell you that you have new hard ware and some other stuff. You want to let it look for the new hardware just this one time.
5. Finally download the Omega drivers and install.
