    BF2 1.21 Claymores... quick Q

As a fairly dedicated sniper, I'm somewhat concerned with the new 1.21 hotfix... When they say that they fixed the maximum number of claymores to be dropped to 2... are they saying in total, or 2 per sniper? I would be rather aggravated if I was trying to cover my rear so I didn't get knifed and couldn't throw one out cuz some 'tard left two in the road to be funny and I had to wait for someone to walk over them...

*I was never one to spam them in Karkand - I think that really gave snipers a bad name, even though it was mainly disgruntled ex-noob-toobers doing it... as you can check out my claymore kills are fairly low...

I think they mean if you place two and go and reload that you can't go and place another until one of the two you already placed has been destroyed.

cool... I'm fine with that... so currently a sniper can lay out as many claymores as he wants if he gets a support guy to keep him supplied????? I play in a good server that doesn't do that so I've never really seen the ultra-spamming that I've heard about...

I thought the first claymore disappeared when the third one is thrown, like the 6th mine.

Well heres what the release note said:

Reduced the maximum number of claymores that can be dropped to 2
So I assume yes, right now you can spam unlimited...not 100% sure tho.

Thats what I thought, but apparently not.

it must be two per sniper....

              similar to mine rule.

Right now a sniper can place up to 5. After the patch, it's at 2.

If you place any more than the maximum, it will start removing the earlier ones, in the order they were placed.

AT Mines are the same way, but their maximum is 5.

which isnt even the real problem, the problem is that we cant kill them.

Exactly, if they could be destroyed by explosives there wouldn't be any complaints at all about claymores...at least not nearly as many as there are now.

Yep, I play a lot of sniper, and I think the best all-around fix would be 2 Max claymores per sniper, FF ON, but can be destroyed by explosives, nades etc.

Since most servers now seem to be turning FF ON for mines/claymores, it's going to go back to the situation where most snipers will stop even laying claymores due to the TK punishes...

Karkland is getting crazy with the claymores I have never been killed so many times in a round there till after the patch. All you see are snipers running laying claymores.

When I play as sniper I use the claymores as an extra tool, mostly defensive. I will place them behind my path if i am going to snipe so I wont get knifed or something stupid. Also, if there is a hot route, aka a lot of people using that particular area, I might put a claymore there so i can have a small advantage.. I mean i only have a pistol for close range so i want to stay alive a little longer.
