random laggage

okay well, all of a sudden, my game will really chug for about 5-10 seconds every once in a while ...my system is very up to date...

2x 7800GTX in SLI
AMD 4400+
2GB RAM

Running on all high at 1600x1200. and my load times also seem a bit slow. I have checked for spyware, adware, viruses, and even defraged.

hmmm....try turning down ur screen size to many 1280X1024 or mabye ur internet..do u have any AA on?

my internet is extremely fast. Yes I have AA on. According to reviews I've seen on systems like mine (with less RAM and weaker processors) running on 1600x1200 is fine. And the lag has only started these last few days.

are all games like this or just BF2?

I've already updated punkbuster, I have been doing so for quite some time. It seems to only be Battlefield 2.

hows your ram? 4x512mb? single channel? 266mhz:cry: ?
COULD be the ram but i highly doubt it as some 266mhz would bottleneck nicely

Some checkpoints:
Does it happen on a busy scene or noisy scene, or is there no link to what the game is doing at the time and it happens completely random?
Is there harddisk activity when this happens?
Do you have programs that may auto-update. Punkbuster may update during the game, but antivirus programs and other programs may do aswell.

im also having the same sudden laggage but only when there is artillery nearby or even LOOKing at arty makes it lag. My fps will drop from 50+ to 15 FPS....yes i updated my PB. could these be a worldwide problem?

Im using TRU 84.12 drivers. i just installed them last bnight this could be causing my sh!t performance? what dirvers do you guys use?

The BS you said to him isn't exactly "helping" either. Go post your great techincal knowledge somewhere else, also remember to take your ugly as hell sig with you.

a nother idea is to reload the shaders, set all setting to default and load up on on ur own sever(the free one u make) then set them back to the high setting and reload to reset the shaders.

okay, no other programs are updating. my RAM is 2x 1GB, the laggage seems to be random. Be clear on this. it isn't regular laggage. I can still move and whatnot a bit; however, i notice a massive slowdown and sometimes there is jerkiness.
