I have my own idea ide like to throw into the mix if i may. It involves giving a full squad who are in very close proximity either a health or some other bonus, it works like this -

If all 6 squad members are alive and together within a certain close radius of the squad leader and the squad leader is a -

Medic - then all squad members receive a 20%(just a an example figure) health bonus.

Assault- then all squad members receive a 20% firepower damage bonus

Support- then all squad members receive a 20% increase in ammo capacity.

Sniper -then all squad members receive a 20% increase in weapon accuracy

Special ops - then all squad members receive a 20% increase in sprint stamina

Engineer - then all squad members receive a 20% increase in the armour of squad driven vehicles.

If any member of the squad dies or goes outside the radius of squad leader bonus then the bonus is taken away.
This would create an incentive for squad play and furthermore and incentive for squads to actually stick together. You could still go lone wolf but you obviously wouldnt get the 20% bonus for anything that a full squad would give.

Obviously this is too much of a change in gameplay for implementation in BF2 , but for a future incarnation of the series maybe?
Thats actually a really good idea and I could easily see that being implemented into the next BF.

I think that if you gave the best sqaud a x2 bonus would also a be a really good idea, I can see it being exploited, but not to an extrememe extent.

well there's problems with that though. You don't usually want to be bunched up in a squad for fear of a lone nade or artillery.

The bonus for teamwork is already there guys... You get more points when you are working as a team. - If people don't understand that and refuse to play as a part of their team/squad its their loss (and sometimes yours... but too bad)

I'm sure if you look at it statistically, people that play in squads and use teamwork have higher SPM. One of the [SoB] guys joined us a couple months back and his SPM has sky rocketed because of our teamwork.
