Operation Cleansweep for me. Perfect for practising how to dodge missiles. The nice mountains are perfect for dodging AAs.

I say, find an empty server on Wake Island, and get used to landing on the USMC carrier and on the conventional airstrip of the Chinese. You also get to experiment with the F-35b's hover capabilities, and the J10's "speediness". And, after a while (at least it seemed so for me), you'll find that people are gradually joining the server, so then you can practice against real people. Also, there are not many obstacles to run into like a cliff on Kubra or a hotel on Oman.

Don't practice with the J-10 man, for two reasons. One, you build bad habits if you are new. Two, you'll **** off all your teammates. I would suggest ZATAR WETLANDS, a very underplayed map. Easy bomb runs, plenty of targets and the mig29 is a great aircraft. Pray your enemy captures the base right next to your airfield == non stop kills :-).

First you gotta switch to single bomb mode, (drop both bombs, back to airstrip, pick up only one, drop that one and go back and pick up 2), then you line up the target, strafe him a lot, then drop the bomb, then do a loop and bomb him vertically from the sky, it's no problem at all.

Wake for learning how to evade. Clean Sweep for learning how to bomb. Kubra for learning how to perform plane manoevures.

Fushe Pass has been the easiest to fly, but I find it hard to fly back and repair, reloading is fine, but the repair part is diffiult.

Re: Best Map for New Pilots

                        How to repair:

Learn how to land a jet! Something every pilot must be capable of - especially in the days of 1.21 when a missle can (still, although it's less likely :p) slam into your rear end at any time. Don't do what most players do, flying over an airfield 5 times, slowly, putting themselves at great risk. My advice: In the beginning, approach the airfield from far away, and make sure you're properly lined up. Start braking early, so that you're around 500-600 kp/h and about 1 1/2 height of one those jet hangers when you reach the start of the runway. You must be LOSING speed at this point, instead of just starting to brake. Do not approach the runway from a high angle, but try to fly low and straight instead. The secret to not exploding on contact with the runway is simple - do not let your nose touch it. Therefore, aim your nose upwards, while your jet slows down and loses altitude. keep braking once you've landed, fix your jet, reverse so you have enough room to take off, and fly away again.

Note: The F-35Bs have different ways of landing. My personal favourite is to hit reverse to hover at a speed of around 800, fly low over the water, then pull up just before the carrier . Flying up will slow you down, so if you time this right you'll be hovering right over the main deck, fixed in a sec, and you can fly off again.

You don't have to land your jet at a runway. The best classes you can be in a jet are engineer and support. You can land your jet anywhere as long as you follow the rule of not touching the ground with anything other than the wheels. Handy if your team has lost your only airfield, for example, as you can either repair or resupply your jet.

Re: Best Map for New Pilots

Ive been hosting my own servers and practising helicoptering on Sharqi and kubra. For craftyu flying between buildings and in pipes etc.
The reason i make my own server is coz this is pretty much my first time actually trying to get into flying and i dont want to **** off all the pubs :P
