perhaps you are the victim of the red/green bug?
I got kiiled 4 times by a team mate till I figured I must have a red name...he was the only one who killed me and after 4 punishes he stopped.

If theres one guy on ur side and 5 or so enemies its safe to say ur guy id going to die. u then drop arty and kill the 5 enemies and this protects ur flag but maybe u did kill ur 1 guy .Whats the problem with that? The guy could just take 1 for the team. Also when 1 guy on ur side is spwan camping the enemy because they want all the kills and dont want to get any help from the commander or any teamates u then drop arty that kills them and loads of enemies then they complain y?

No unfortunatley this prick was TK'ing anyone who spawned on the carrier, and in particular me.

ive been here from the demo release,
it just seems t obe gettin more of a comon thing now the commander dropping arty on his own team to get to enemy that are cappin the flags.
it just feels that alot players exploit this.

I totally disagree with the OP.

When the commander puts arty down there is this HUGE red thing that appears 30 seconds before it drops on the map in the location that it will drop. You can easily avoid a commander intentionally TKing with arty because you have to be in one spot for 30 seconds for him to even have a chance.

Furthermore, you prove the reason WHY this is needed. People obviously don't look at their minimaps enough to see when arty is falling. Before the patch that came out and fixed this, you could, as a commander, put arty a mile away from anyone of your players and, almost without fail, some schmoe with a full jeep would drive halfway across the map to get killed by your arty.

I got kicked from a couple of servers because of TKs that weren't even remotely my fault.

So basically, if oyu know he is trying to kill you with arty, just glance at your minimap from time to time to see if an arty is on you. If so, run. It's not that difficult.

A commander has no such safegaurd. Considering the time it takes for an arty to actually drop there is no way of accurately predicting everytime who will and who will not be under that arty when it falls you can always have some schmoe who doesn't look at his minimap and runs straight into the arty.

this is the point im tryin to make some times your cornered in by enem so youve got no where to run,
the only way is to stand an fight an a lot of the when you win the fire fight its to late as the arty is in bound.
because of a commander who cant wait to see the out come of it.
he just sees red dotes an lets rip!

I think a commander should be able to be punished points wise but not not have the tk count as a kickable offense. That way there is some penatly for careless artillery (lossing points) but not serious enough incase of accidents. Personally, when I'm commander I always apologize when I'm commander if I hit a teammate, it might have been his fault but it's the polite thing to do.

i agree take the points an see how he likes it,but like you say loose the kick option.
that would make some commanders use arty more carefully

Yea, arty TKs should return and like Burntheweed said, commanders lose points for tking, because they shouldnt be able to just drop arty everwhere they feel like. i understand how DICE has to balance between realism and good gameplay, but i think this could be implemented without upsetting either.

not every player can kill just one enemy before the get nailed my average is 3+ to 1 deaths.
an its to do with the commander killin team mates an gettin no punish but when you kill the commander by accident because hes gone lone wolfin about the map an ran in to a stray round he punish's.
one rule for one an another rule for anoter comes to mind.

I think anyone who considers bringing TK punish for Commanders back does not play commander enough. No matter how good you are, someone will ALWAYS run right inot the arty strike at least once during a round. Being punished for someone who does not know how to use or pay attention to the minimap is stupid. It amazes me more and more every day that people do not use that little map at the top of the screen.

A commander spots a bad guy behind you. You hear the spot. You NEVER turn around and end up getting killed. Why? NOT USING THE MINIMAP. If you cannot multitask while you are playing, go find the n00bsRus server. Get some skill and use the tools available to you. Stop whining about arty strikes when you can see them in plenty of time to move out of the area or to seek shelter.

You better believe it. I was with the game from DAY ONE and the first thing people would do if they did not like my commanding was pile straight into the arty and bury me in Tk's.

Ive hardened my heart to the artillery kills. I will warn you if you are part of a squad in the impact area and type ARTY TAKE COVER! one or two times in team chat. If you are STILL in the big red arty icon area after it is fired, then you are on your own soldier.

Thank god for the patch. Other Tk's are still possible and sometimes a truly poor command performance earns a boot, votekick or mutiny that actually goes thru. The Commander does NOT have total immunity. Nor should he or she have immunity.
