Its a good thing that EA have finally made it aware as to the role of BF2RS and the ROE. So watch out all you guys who think you aren't required to abide by the ROE!

I still disagree, policies are just that, policies and not rules, (A course of action, guiding principle, or procedure considered expedient, prudent, or advantageous), and nothing more.

Either way I don't care, I'll mainly be on private clan servers, where atleast most of the admin know how to admin correctly

Are ranked servers allowed to make rules about how commanders should play? A lot of servers have the rule that commander need to stay at the base and command not fight or that commanders can't use armor, which I think is ridiculous.

Yes they can.
ROE link: http://www.bf2rankedservers.com/foru...read.php?t=251

2 EA OFFICIAL PUBLIC SERVER RULES

§2.3 You may not deliberately hinder your own team or acting in such as way as to cause team mates unavoidable deaths or team losses.

§ Commander flying or in a vehicle instead of commanding

Now this rule is "not" just for private ranked servers its also for EA Official Public ranked servers as well.

Well you can disagree with it all you like but if you don't abide with it, even as a player you risk getting your stats wiped. So the decision is up to you.

That rule doesn't mean commanders can't fight in vehicles. It just means don't fight in vehicles INSTEAD of commanding. Some people can do both.

You thought it was funny? Seriously?

I just thought it showed me a pathetic person who sucks so bad at BF2 that they have turned to the easy thing and started killing teammates who are completely unaware.

I agree with you that that is a legitimate way of interpreting that rule, however, I entirely disagree that one can command conitnually effectively AND conitinually effectively use a vehicle at the same time. It just is not possible. Inevitably there will come a point where you should be fully focused on both and so one will suffer.
