i have a low global score but i am top 5000 at and top 3000 sniper so must be doing something right and only play 64 man servers i accept that the style of play i like means low scores but i enjoy it to much to change.

if you want to achieve the 100+ a round scores then you will have to change kit and tactics drastically.

And for those of you who say he is bad, shame on you, he plays a style he enjoys that is well known for having lousey rewards.
how do you know you are a top 5000 AT?

Last time BF2S did global rankings I was in the top 60 submachine users and top 2000 AT. But that is based only on kills is it not?

Check your rankings in BFHQ under the kits.

If you're using the DAO-12 then put yourself in situations where the gun can work for you; tight spaces, enemies close together, etc. Avoid wide open spaces where you can get picked off easily. Get used to the slow reloading and learn how to swap weps back and forth to achieve a partial reload if you don't have enough time for a full reload. After that it's just a matter of working on your speed and aim.

the problem with the AT kit is while you are taking out tanks or whatever someone else comes along and puts the final hit in to them and you the AT guy get no credit for the damage you have done to the vehicle. so you end up with nothing for what you do a lot of the time.

True... when I'm AT I like to hang around a TOW missile... one TOW shot usually = kill... if not, use AT rocket to finish it off.

I am having the same problem: low K/D ratio and Score Per Minute for that same problem! I play AT most of the time.

If you want higher score then try new guns at least. I found the G3 to be way more effective than the DAO. They both need to be reloaded frequently so by going to the G3 from the DAO you wont feel the reload issue.

The problem in maps like karkand if you have an enemy with G36E/C 50m away from you then you are dead unless your rocket is ready and he is not moving.

You definitly need to change your gameplay style if you are score hungry. AT wont give you a lot of points.... well... at least not as many as the other kits.

Another thing is just playing a different kid that gives you team points, like medic, support, or engineer. If you want kills, fight in vehicles. Any vehicle gives you an advantage except maybe jeeps just because they're so fragile. Or just be commander and get the x2 points for a win. You need to give up the AT kit if you want points. It's just not built for combat... even against tanks especially with all of the bugs it has in 1.2. I'm guessing by now you should probably have Expert AT Combat badge? I suggest retiring it and using other kits and only going back to AT when you really need it. If you really want to be AT, try driving around in a tank with it. It's good to finish off other tanks with.
Hey, it's nice of you to give out advice and all, but um.. How do I word this..

..You're a pointwhore and the target of most of the little negativity that's already in this thread. Why assume the guy is playing AT kit for the expert AT badge? He's playing because he likes the game, he likes that kit. If he wanted an unfair advantage from vehicles he probably wouldn't be bent on destroying them from foot.

                        hi hi again
                        tks for more input

yes, i DO like the game and the AT kit is my favorite because i like playing in a squad with a team that works well together

and yes, i did notice my overall hours, but i think something is wrong. I received a badge for the 'having over 400 hours play', so go figure, but again, whatever, i play the game because i love to play teamplay, i was just hopign that maybe there was something i could do better to improve the AT kit that im missing.

again, thanks again for all the input folks.....

One other thing: do yourself a favour and set your graphics at a level so that you get smooth framerates even in congested areas. I see a lot of people who run details too high and although it looks pretty, guess what happens when they run into a crowded firefight? That's right they chug out slightly for a split second and they are dead before they get a chance to do anything.

I have an a64 3200+ and a 6800GT which is likely considered fairly mediocre hardware by todays standards but you would be suprised at how low I have my res/graphic detail set all in the name of high/consistent framerates.

I also recently hit 20000 and that next rank does most certainly seem very far away! I have played about 175 hours as Anti-Tank. The real turn around for me was to play with the DAO. This gun, of course, requires upclose confrontations. That means you need to use EVERY possible cover around you. Buildings, people, pile ons, hills, anything to get closer to your enemy. Basically, if you see them go prone and you cant get an at missile shot off, hide and move closer. You cant just go rambo into everything :)

The AT kit, as most have already said, has no extra perk points so kill kill kill! Capping flags is definitely a must too, since you can handle everything up close with the DAO.

If you are not getting 10+ kills per round, its time to get movin!

Hm, and your friend mentioned that you're excellent at destroying tanks in 2 shots and also excel at sniping out infantry with your rockets. Alas, I'm a bit confused. I can never kill a tank in 2 shots-- It usually takes me quite a few, even for an APC it would seem, but I always seem to get the job done and walk out with quite a few points.. Even for AT.

Maybe you should mix with parish's theorem. Perhaps, be a more aggressive AT troop and take over flags with a squad that has all the classes.

Ex. A assault on a cap point with assets, such as the TV station on Sharqi: The assault, medic, and support can handle the infantry, the spec ops can blow the assets once the base is taken (and set up booby traps.. and shoot infantry. spec ops don't stop there ) and then you can handle the armor that rolls in afterwards to attempt getting the point back. Also, the DAO should be more than sufficient when dealing with infantry in close quarters- Which, that particular point (among others) is notorious for.

Any capture point works like that really, minus the assets. Someone also mentioned forming a squad called 'ANTI-TANK'. I've done this before and it worked really well- It's nice to have a medic and support in with you though. On the bright side, with all the PKM whoring, ammo should never be more than a stone's throw away.. Perhaps that will help your ratio?
