If the enemy spots me before I spot him, then I will probably take a few hits and then go prone and shoot back. If I see him first, then I will prone and fire at his upper torso. :)

well this question is too simple... in close combat when your enemy carries a DAO just try to go prone lol at long ranges there is nooane as foool to shoot stand -.- so this poll doesnt make senese

For me it depends on the situation. What weapon, how far, etc. If I am in close range and I spot guy, I keep standing and aim for the head. Medium-to long range is when I go prone. It improves accuracy, although it doesen't necessarily make you harder to hit as I've seen other people claim.

Where is the strafing option? Strafing shooting is most effective in close range . Completely slaughter people who prone,crouch. Because going prone everybody can do that, while strafing and shooting with accuracy took skills and not a lot of people can do that.

However this tactic doesn't apply for mid to long range engagement

I usually try not to **** myself and cry like a baby when I see someone, but if I do I usually go Prone since I am used to being a support guy since I started playing. Now I am medic but old habits are hard to break.

I voted, Crouch and shoot. Because that is what I do most of the time. But it is more like. Spot, nade, crouch and shoot. If they are faceing me middle close to long range. But if your back is to me at close range. Well then the knife comes out.

i crouch then go prone it makes it hard for the person beacuse it is not normal for someone to do.
