well done, this points to why PKM needs nerfing via some aspects.

standing to prone needs some delay between accuracy (I cannot accept being pwned by PKM straight from round a corner, (from PKM player being standing/prone, to me being dead).

    slight nerfing needed >.<

Why would he take that the wrong way?

I'd say your circle graphs are a pretty good tool for comparativley visualizing the strengths and weaknesses of each class. They seem to be on par with how I would characterize each...

So judging by the graphs, Support is the best.

            It took about 30 minutes.

Ah, ok... I see what you're doing and what you're asking for.

One thing I'd suggest that the assualt kit should prolly get a bit of a bump up on the shortrange side. The G3 drops people with the same number of rounds as the PKM, yet has a faster rate of fire. The other options include the toob, which is really ONLY effective at close range now. Flashbangs are shortrange too.

I'll stare 'n stew over it a bit 'n let ya know if I gots any other thoughts... if ya want, that is. :p

Yup! I'm happy to make adjustments as the community here sees fit. Ultimately I'd love to open a bunch of polls that ask people to rank each kit and each dimension from 1-4, but that's a long shot.

Just remember (everyone!) that when you consider a dimension, consider all of the capabilities of all of the weapons, including unlocks. So if two guns are exceptional in close and two are exceptional in far we need to reflect an aggregate average.

It's hardly scientific and certainly not mathematical but we can estimate accurately enough for it to mean something.

Re: Kit Comparison Graphs: Feedback Wanted

These are nice graphs indeed... so nice in fact I am retyping my reply and suggestions again, after the board myseriously lost my post, which happens almost 9/10 times these days... I simply forgot to copy the messege before clicking post quick reply

Anyway... down to the post. These are just by personal suggestions based on my experience and bias. Not everyone will agree, but here they be:

Spec Ops: I think this class is slightly under-rated. Even after the latest patch, they are one of the most versatile kits in the game. I would personally increase offense, short range, and longevity by one and decrease firepower and vs. vehicles by one.

Sniper: I think you have them slighty under-rated as well, but I am admittedly quite biased here. I personally would increase mobility and short range by one.

Assault: I think Assault is a solid class and would personally raise their offense and firepower by one.

Support: ...sad isnt it... well, I am afraid I would suggest making it even more so; personally I would decrease offense by one and increase vs. vehicles by one. Seems you are basing your ratings off of the PKM, so may as well base the vs. vehicles off of the PKM as well. If it were any stock LMG, the ratings wouldn't be so great, but almost every support player now uses the PKM and the MG36. The MG36 would probably fit the current model perfectly plus the minus one to offense.

Engineer: About perfect. However, I think I would personally decrease offense by one. An engineer can no longer repair the vehicle he is in, so their offensive power in vehicles is no better than most other classes in vehicles and their offensive power out of vehicles is almost worthless.

                    Medic: Spot on.

Anti-Tank: This one is complicated: Most definitely I would decrease longevity by one and if the scale allowed for further reductions without going to zero, they would be fitting. Six rockets rarely last longer than one or two vehicles. Sometimes you get a vehicle kill for each, but more often you go through at least 2 or 3 to get a tank and sometimes you miss, plus any you expend on infantry. Also I would decrease firepower by one. Rockets oneshot kill an infantry player, but the average AT player is not that effective at engaging infantry with the AT rockets, especially since they lag a little more than usualy since the latest patch and are quite buggy to boot. The DAO is quite a powerful weapon, buts its range limitations are such that i think the reduction of firepower is still more true to the class's abilities. I think long-range also needs a reduction by one. AT rockets are your only long-range tool as AT and they are not nearly as effective as a rifle. Part of the problem is that you can not see the smoke trail long before the rocket reaches the end of the viewing distance and the rockets travel slower than what would seem natural.

But seriously, the graphs look nice and I think you have a very good grasp of the strengths and weaknesses of each class. Great job.

                      suggest :

stronger vs vehicles for sniper and support a smigen
decrease mobility for the Assault and Support :hmm:

                      nice analysis

Cool graphs. If any sort of accuracy is apparent, they just prove that Support is the most well-rounded class in-game. However, I find (especially in SF) that more and more people are using the GL weapons (F2000, AK101) than the PKM. Only those who know how powerful the PKM is use it effectively and don't go running down the main street on Warlord spraying bullets at anything that moves.

PKM is not a noob friendly weapon until the noob learns how to camp wisely, vis-a-vis making them a non-noob.

Looks great, its not 100% accurate because the kits variety gives them all a chance to perform all-around. But for a subjective one its pretty damn good. And well, it looks great too.

Ive got a question- what program did you use?

First of al, congratualtions on makeing those pictures, but i would rather like it more if it was based on real numbers (ie ROF, damage) and the PKM seems a bit underpowered against vehicles in your chart.

Did you use Excel or Lotus?

                              Visio.

I can't use real numbers because I'd have to track each possible weapon including unlocks, which would mean about 4x as many charts. These are meant to represent "best estimate" averages for each kit. Yes, I realize that you can use any kit in any way, but the bottom line is that kits tend to excel/fail along trends based on most situations. That's why I wanted your feedback, so I can group it together and create a player-defined estimation.

I think simple graphs like this tell much more than numbers can. There are simply too many factors to roll in numerically in these categories. There is much more than just weapon stats involved in a kits combat effectiveness.
