Outrageous Amount of Points

Ok, so I bought BF2 the day it came out, and I've been playing it almost every day since then. I feel that I'm a pretty decent player, and that I don't have trouble holding my own in games. I usually average around 50 points per game. Right now I'm at about 33,000 global points.

Then I see all theses guys playing online that have like 100,000 points, 125,000 points, and even over 150,000 points. They're all really high ranking guys.

I just can't believe it, how do they do that? How have they gotten such high ranks in the same amount of time? And what am I doing wrong? It's taking me forever to get to my next promotion, but these guys are miles ahead.

What's the deal? Am I missing something? Some secret to ridiculously high amounts of points?

Play several hours every day and whore the most powerful vehicles the entire time. That is all. Thats what got me where I am:p

Well, I average 30ish points a round so dont feel too bad :) A lot of the players at the top play on one map (usually Karkand) and play literally for like 12 hours a day plus. For those of us with a life, this is not possible.

So, no there is no super secret way to get a ton of points. You can sit on a 24/7 karkand server as medic, and rack up points, but thats not my idea of fun. I would rather have some variety with maps and kits.

Secondly, they play Karkand. And only Karkand. And only medic. that's how they have such a high SPM. Just give up any hope you have of having any sort of life outside of BF2, learn to love Karkand, and you're set.

I'm sure you're not playing 8-12+ hours a day like some of the top guys.

Yes play all day but you dont need to vehicle whore i know a few people who can get between 150-200 points per round with out whoring or stat padding

Being medic in city maps pay's of to .. that is if you're good.. aslo try the PKM sometimes AND MOST IMPORTANT BE IN A GOOD SQUAD

I play the moongamers 24/7 karkand where he plays. he's an admin there, and there are hours that will go by that he's connected, but isn't actually playing. he says it's "idle admin time" but i've never been able to get help from him or any other admin on that server when i've needed it. guess because he's an admin, he doesn't get kicked due to idle time, but still racks in the time played.

no, i play there when none of my clan/players group are on. when they get on later, i join them on a server we co-admin, or on 260's server. imo, karkand, and mush are the best maps, and favorites to play, but they do get old over and over again. i like the variety of the other maps when i'm playing with friends.

Has anyone ever considered that maybe these top players are not one person but several? Really, think about it...a couple of guys sharing account info...
Obviously they couldn't play at the same time, but they could take shifts.

i'm not disagreeing with your point, but i can't fathom why anyone would dedicate that much time and resources just so they can get virtual points that mean absolutely nothing. . .

I see your point, but look at all the people that cheat/hack, and used crazy methods of statpadding to increase those virtual points. they seem to mean more to most people that just the sheer enjoyment of the game. pity...
