How to unlock the L96A1/P90?

Hey guys, I need help unlocking the new 1.2 unlocks.

I'm primarily a sniper and the L96A1 sounds excellent, but I can't unlock it!

I have SF installed, though I haven't played it much recently. Do I need to play 1 entire round in SF before I can unlock the new weapons?

My rank is Master Sergeant and I have every single unlock bar the 1.2 ones. Do I need to wait till I'm at Master Gunnery Seageant before I can unlock the 1.2 guns?

wait till your next rank and u should be able to unlock the gun w/ the best sound in the world

Play some rounds of SF and you should get the unlocks when the stats update.

You need to play SF a little then you should be able to unlock a few(not sure how many depends on your score and rank.)

I was just about to ask about this too. I've been playing SF, but haven't gotten them yet. I just got the medic and engineer unlocks last month (because those BF2 guns were unlocked last). It then took a few weeks before the thing popped up to let me unlock the SF guns.

Well, I played a few rounds of SF last night and still nothing.

Looks like I'll need to increase my rank before I can get the unlocks.

Hmm, how long does it take for the SF stats to 'update' so they know I've played it?

Oh, and do you unlock the weapons from SF or regular BF2?

He needs to get to the next rank, if he already has unlocked all the weapons except the 1.2 ones at 20,000 points then he has already used his special forces unlocks.

Ahh OK, that clears things up.

You know, there is a HUGE gap between Master Sergeant (20000pts) and Master Gunnery Seageant (50000pts). Luckily I've only got 4000 odd points to go...

Had I known that they were gonna introduce another sniper unlock I would've never unlocked the SCAR-L (G36C owns it) or MG36 (PKM - nuff said). I just unlocked those weapons since I didn't want leave two spare unlocks wasted...

Does anyone know how many unlocks you get at Master Gunnery Sergeant rank? One or two?

Two with SF, One without it. So in your case you will get Two.

Everytime you get promoted, you can unlock a weapon. Why is this so obvious answer so dificult for some people to understand and they keep starting threads with the same question in a different form, over and over again. The only exception fro this rule was when the new patch came out, 2 unlocks were offered without the promotion requirement. Whoever used that chance to unlock something else instead, of course needs to wait til the next promo to unlock the L96 and the P90.

The answer is either you were already sergeant major with all the previous unlocks, or simply when the two unlocks were offered with the 1.2 patch, you selected those out of all the unlock that were available to you.

Yes, few days before the patch, everybody was offered an unlock without promotion, or two unlocks if you had SF installed. Among the unlocks that people could chose from, L96 and P90 were available as well. Obviously those were the only available unlocks for everybody sergeant major and above (people that had all the previous unlocks already).
