This card is known to have issues with BF2. It is a budget card, and unfortunately has the same issues with BF2 as a SBLive or SBLive 24 bit card

              Sorry...crap card.

In addition to what talus said, do not try using the hardware setting with that card. It doesn't have the hardware (EMU10K2 chip) on it to allow BF2 to run the sound in hardware mode.

That is true..sorry, I shouldn't dismiss the card entirely...but you won't be able to use some of the settings that you think you should.

Run in software mode at medium or low...EAX to taste.

Thanks, But i will run in hardware in high quality fine, It only goes funny with the soliders start talking, I can run it in software in high quality with EAX on and it sounds pretty well no problems. My onboard card will run hardware in high quality with EAX on and thats fine and thats an onboard NForce 3 board.

The reason you have problems has already been stated, the Audigy SE is incapable of doing hardware sound (especially EAX) as the hardware isn't there. And I highly doubt that your onboard was running in hardware mode for the same reason.

Might want to read this review here,

                            http://www.techspot.com/reviews/hard...teedge-5.shtml

This is mostly irrelevant though, the Audigy 2 ZS is probably the best soundcard you can currently buy if you are all about gaming in your PC, and the Ultimate Edge is not going to change this. If occasional gaming is your thing then the Ultimate Edge would indeed more than suffice.
                            and this bit,

The Ultimate Edge differs in no way from the Aurilium when it comes to gaming support: DirectSound, DirectSound3D, DirectMusic and EAX 1/2 are all supported. EAX Advanced HD 3/4 is not, nor was an OpenAL driver provided which leaves NVIDIA and Creative as the only APU makers to support it in their drivers.
which is what BF2 uses for sound. Here's another with the cpu usage for that card,

                            http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...1660811,00.asp

What it comes down to is that the only cards that have true hardware support are the Audigy series (and not the Audigy LS/SE/DE).

So does that mean it doesnt run hardware?.
