There is a skill to tank warfare. Tanks have different hit zones don't forget. Secrets of BF2 has a picture for tank on tank and other stuff on tank. I tend to aim for the front tracks, or if i'm feeling lucky the small gap between the gun and the tank hull. I can usually win tank on tank everytime. Lots of smoke helps too don't stick to raods etc.

If you want real tank warfare go play the Project reality mini mod. Its quite good you know.

correct me if im wrong but isnt that what armoured fury is about?

lol yeah it is and im looking forward to it i love killing armour as antitank or going up against a tank in a apc and kicking its arse .

TIP:- Aim for the tracks if you bump into each other at the exact same time and both start firing at the same time the apc will take the tank out before it even gets its second shot of (its harder though for some reason since the 1.2 patch but still possible.).

No need to wait for Armoured Fury, Operation Smoke Screen from Euro Force does the trick.

14 tanks, 4 AA, 4 jets, 4 attack helos.

And this is in a 200 ticket 32-player size (there is no 64)

Goes good with my idea of an air to air only battle no stingers or anything. There would be about 30 jets one each side all fighters and Jeeps to get around for lazy people like me :) and there could be a river inbetween for no baserapers. And best yet no AA.

Good idea or not.?

BF1942 had Aberdeen.

DC had 73 Easting(largest tank battle since Kursk)

BF2 has.....

That's a good idea! It might even make it possible to get your veteran repair badge!

Though, you might need a beefy server to handle the 32 to 64 simultanous sounds of the repair ratchet constantly going.

Yeah that would be sick...Im gonna look into this more...I know EuroForces is adding 2 tanks...

you mean, more WWII style. BF2 is a modern warfare game and tanks doesn't seem fit for it. nowadays planes rule the map, not tanks

Tank battles at 400m would be pretty fun. I remember having some pretty long shots on El Amien in 42 and DC.

Thats total.

Each starting base starts with 4 tanks , 2 attack helos, 2 jets and 1 AA, the other 6 tanks and 2 AAs spawn at the flags on the map once they are taken. Its total carnage.
