Yeah, not being able to run and pitch mines sucks too. As if the engineer class wasn't crappy enough to play as. You get a lame shotgun..or a lame shotgun...or a pea shooter. Yay. Now you have to plan ahead or be brave and sneak up on vehicles to get a mine kill. God help you if there is more than one troop on the ground you have to contend with.

I have never needed C4 "at all" since the game was released....

The solution is playing this game the way it was meant to be played...That is, play with squads...And don't just create a squad in a public server and invite people randomly...Play with your friends who are at the same time in the ventrilo/teamspeak with you...

After that, there is a tank coming towards you, the APCs is whoring the battlefield getting 15 kills a minute? Easy solution...Everyone gets an AT kit, there we go, before even the 4th rocket makes it to the tank, he is dead.

There are so many instances where my squad p!ssed off the vehicle whores in public 24/7 karkand,mashtuur servers, they basically left the server after a round with this simple tactic. It becomes so annoying for the tank whore after hearing that warning sound "over and over and over" again for minutes...Sometimes we get so populated, we have enough players to form 3 full squads (that's 18 people!) in one team. Imagine in every squad there are 5 AT, 1 support....You won't see even a vodnik in a few minutes, they can't even dare to drive...

Try it, see it yourselves...

Oh and if you are a lonewolf, then:

This game isn't meant to be played individually. Of course you can, but if you do, you can't complain when a tank kills you. Or you will try to use the shiitty VoIP in the game and try to organize 5 people that you have never talked before in your life...

I never chucked C4, so luckily that's a lost feature I'll never miss, but I must say I miss not being able to chuck AT mines.

I rarely play engineer, but when I did, I used to love tossing a mine on top of armor and seeing them explode the instant they moved. :p (In the beginning before I discovered this [now gone] feature, laying mines in front of and behind armor rarely worked for me. I never could figure out why. They just rolled right over it.)

well if you think voip is crappy, why dont u set up a ventrilo server in your PC? That's what I had been doing for over 6 months until I found the TotalBF2 clan. I never paid for ventrilo and I don't have a super uber computer. It takes less than 2 minutes to download, install, and start the ventrilo server, it's easier than posting to this forum. The server i had could hold up to 10 people with no lag or ping issues.

Yeah, gotta love that stunt. Even better in SF. While playing as rebels on (Surge?), we effectively closed down the enemy team this way. Gotta love RPGs! We camped at the bridge between the enemy uncap and out mainland, blowing the hella outta anything they tried to role across. Nailed their Hind a couple times too. The support guy we had with us was quite happy... scored 2 badges in one round.

yeah do that in a 64 player full server with 3 squads...

I remember one guy asking us the leader of our clan and I replied him "why?" and he said "I want to votekick these bastards, but there are so many of you, I don't know which one to pick"...

So the noob is noob, he was noob 20 years before when there was Amiga500, and he will be noob 20 years later when we ll need 1 TB RAMs for internet explorer...

C4 chucking was retarded to the extreme and should have never been in the game in the first place.
And everything shown in that second video is still easily possible, if you do not think so then perhaps your definition of "noob" is different to mine and everyone elses..

I am not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers. I merely stated that there is a definite level of skill involved. Just like there is in flying. The basic truth here that no one likes to get owned, by any kit, on any map...period. But you have ribbons and medals for "Explosive Ordinance" and Aviation. People did indeed shout in a child-like rage about the C4 chuckers.

You were one of the guys in the video eating the C4 I bet...LOL! There is a guy running, he jumps and throws a small packet of C4 and detonates it while evading the fire of 3-5 guys. You draw similarities between this skillful playing and a "retarded seal flopping around"? Your sig suits your disposition.

There is a limit to who you can select in a public server. When we play in a public server, we squad up with anyone that is willing to work as a team to get through the map. Unfortunately my personal responsibilities prohibit me from being on at the same time as some of my friends some days of the week.

I usually go sniper if I cannot get a squad together. I start a squad and lock it down, climb up into a place with infantry traffic and open up the whoop ass...LOL!!!

I just miss the C4 chucking. I got killed TONS of times by it, the same with the n00b tubers. I cannot even count the number of deaths that came from those 2 things alone. BUT, It was challenging and it made you think on your feet and adapt to the possibility of dying that way. It was very satisfying to shoot down a C4 chucker before he could blow his wad so to speak. Final thought here, if someone is stupid enough to try and take on an armored vehicle with a regular weapon, they DESERVE to get owned over and over by that particular vehicle. Jumping and using your kit needs to be brought back, if not then no big deal. There are more games coming out and they look very promising.

if people not can shoot people down, who are 10 feet away
they deserve to be death.

and I was no c4 chuker. Only a friend of my was.

And we have trainend alot, against each other. to avoid c4.
it taked us 2 days.

To do it ourselfs and understand the technick how to avoid beeing c4.

That was skills, also with the m203,
the samething only, we learned it from people on a unrankend infrantry public server.

That video shows three things:

1) How very beautiful the graphics engine in BF2 is,

2) How completely lame you make the game look with your bunny hopping antics and,

3) How correct the devs were to make the changes they did in 1.2




Mind you, all the helicopter stuff was pretty cool.
