Basic Explosives Badge

Ok i need help.

Unfortunately, i wasnt a C4 chucker. Now with the Rev 1.2 fix, i need to get 13 kills with C4 which i think is now extremely challenging to do.

Can anyone recommend maps or strategies for me achieving this badge?

The best results i have gotten was in Sharqi. But, even in my best game (5 claymore defenses and 3 C4 defenses) i still fell very short.

On another note, getting the basic zipline and grappling hook was challenging too. You need 10 deployments. I use them an average of 3 times during a game. so i had to make an effort to use them frequently.

In regards to the zipline/grapple hook badges. You simply throw them, and pick them up. Rinse repeat. Do that 10 times and you get it.

Find a Strike at Karkand map, 64-player map, but with like 20-40 players max. The Friendly Fire must be OFF. Then, you can freely detonate at will without killing your teammates.

I got mine in Sharqi, what's remarkable is that I wasn't chuckin so there's hope:)

Try out a 64 player server and mine the way with C4(never mind clays), ie paths and popular routes, between the most popular flags. For example, the surveilance flag and the three most 'western' US flags are heavily trafficated. With the coordination of the UAV is shouldn't be too difficult to get 13 C4 kills.

A method that will get you unpopular is to suicide buggy on 64 Karkand right below the eastern US spawn.

If you feel the need to use the infamous Jihad Jeep technique to get this badge (I don’t advocate it though, but without the ability to chuck in 1.2 your options are somewhat limited), do it on Warlord (use the ATV to get around on), it's smaller than Karkand and I personally find there are more available targets that can be caught in congestion points. You should be able to get it there, before they ban you for doing it......no-one likes this trick.

I don't dislike it and actually find it kind of fun to watch (not that I've ever done it myself). We should all know by now that suicide bombing as a tactic isn't all that uncommon in the real world. When it happens to me on Warlord, it frustrates me for a second (just as any death does), but I don't mind the tactic as it is not an cheap/exploit like dolphin diving, bunny hopping and C4 frisbees were.

I have almost gotten it three times using current state of clays. Lay them near two or three different flags. Have a buddy as support. Rinse, repeat. I can't tell you how many people I pi$$ed off last night! I hate doing it, but the reactions I get make it worth it!

I got it while squad leader on strike at karkand, it was a 64 size map with 16 players, and i got a good support dude with me and i spammed my way to 18 kills with claymores. I felt so bad doing it, but it had to be done:)

I seem to get more kills with a claymore now than with C4, I ain't into the whole chucking C4 at someone and detonating. I still don't have the basic explosives.

I did it the other day on Karkand using claymores... Just keep dropping them down the most obvious routes of advance for the enemy attacking from the south of the map and it's not too difficult, though it helps if there's support about dropping ammo packs. I must have been dropping 6-8 at a time before being killed, then starting again...

Do it before the new patch comes out though, they're going to restrict it to 2 claymores at a time...

Very good tip!
I wish I started out with 1.0 in which getting points were crazy easier and things weren't nerfed and all. Try getting a expert knife today...

The palace on Warlord is the place to be. Cap one of the two flags and blast off the other team coming from the second flag with claymores.
I got veteran really easy that way and even managed to make expert a few days ago.
The tv-station is also a good place.

Go on warlord as a sniper, see if you can get a friendly support guy, defend the TV tower using clays. Some admins will kick you for it though. Best thing to do is plant the clays to defend the flag so that only one at a time will be triggered, go up to the roof, zip line across to the highest building and cover the flag with your rifle. Ask the commander for supplies and resup clays, once the clays are triggered, zip line back across to the flag, re plant clays and repeat. Whilst waiting for victims pick off SAS trying to take first flag or if you are SAS pick off opposing snipers at insurgent HQ roof etc. :drevil:
