Are they really that light now? I remember seeing old Vietnam-era movies and seeing only the biggest guys carrying the chain-fed weapons. I thought they were 50-60 lbs.

Anyway, I still think there should be some sort of delay in setting it up. This would cause them to shoot "from the hip" and lose some of their accuracy.

i think one thing they should consider is this...

      w/ the support/medic/specops packs, the ammo/c4/medkit, should have a 2nd fire capability...

the 2nd fire can be a charge up kinda like the grenade, and be used to get it out there a reasonable distance. i think this would make the classes a bit more versitile, and also please some people who realize that a lot of the time, tossing c4 was about the only way to actualy hit a moving tank w/ it

^That sounds like a good idea. Hold down the LMouse button to begin windup. I would also add a cooldown as well...

They should also stun enemies :) your'e running up to resupply someone and you get blindsided, no time to swap to the gun...wallop them over the head with a big bag full of 100 bullets! We want more realism Dice!

I always though engineers should have their wrench as a close quarters weapon instead of the knife, then they could have a basic wrench combat badge :) That alone would make the engineer class twice as much fun

^YES!! We've been talking about that! Club them over the head w/ the WRENCH!! I like the idea of stunning with the bags, though if you hit friendlies, it should stun them as well. More realistic, and it would discourage them from putting them on TOP of players all the time!

The game that I cut my teeth on was Call of Duty, United Offensive. They have the 'Mele' feature that allows you to bash the enemy with your rifle butt. Now thats close quarters combat. BF2 needs that.

I was thinking about that one too. If you get in close enough, it could be really effective.

If it was one hit to kill you'd dive out, fire the shot and stand there laughing until the tank blew up. As it is you need to pick your moments and go for quick sneak attacks to make sure you finish the job.
A bit TOO much of a challenge don't you think? by the time you've fired your 3rd or 4th rocket, the enemy vehicle would have been long gone! other than that- you would have had to take almost a whole minute to take down 1 tank or APC, provided that the Tank or APC is the only thing you have to concentrate on.

I really don't agree with making it so that the only thing the AT guy can do is give the enemy tank a light tap on the armour. They shouldn't label the AT kit as 'Anti Tank' in the kit selection menu anymore- they should just call it 'Comic Relief'.

Want to make armour laugh? pick up an AT kit now!

There's no such thing as too much of a challenge in gaming...if that was the case I'd have given up the moment I first set eyes on a Defender machine at the tender age of 6 :p

In my experience tanks are pretty stubborn things and tend to stick around right until the last health bar, probably believing they're perfectly safe from the "useless" anti tank kit. AS long as you hit the right spots you can get them smoking in 2-3 hits, if you get lucky they'll explode. I personally prefer it that way, as opposed to having the equivalent of a sign on the side saying "Hit tank here to explode". Besides, tanks are incapable of travelling more than 12 feet without taking damage....guns, pah, rockets, pah...small stones and twigs on the floor, HELP!

I'm sure the games different for everyone, and we've all developed our own playing styles, but for me personally I've never had a problem taking out tanks with the AT class. Granted I have a problem with not being killed by the tank in the process at times, but that's what respawns are for.

And game time always seems a lot longer than it is, I can spend a minute chasing one bloke just so I can knife him in the back but it doesn't bother me as long as I've done what I set out to do. If the result after a couple of minutes ducking, sneaking and panicking is one dead tank and one (hopefully) unscathed AT soldier then you should sit back and admire what you've achieved. Sure it was a challenge, but it's far more rewarding than dropping a bomb on the thing from a jet.

I think you are aiming for the wrong spots....Think about it big missiles like that will bounce off a tank if not put in the proper place...I have no problem taking out tanks with the AT kit and it does not take me 4 shots well unless I miss on the first 2....Also that post right there is why this game got messed up people blame it on the game instead of themselves much like many things in life...Most of the time it was an ID ten T error and not the game...

Basically I feel the kits are fine...the FF off on mines is a good thing it stops the asshats from taking full jeeps of friendlys and driving over your mines...Yes PEOPLE DO THIS and they do it on PURPOSE...they even brag about it...anyways...

The only problem I have is how the choppers have had their balls cut off....The aa against the planes is fine but against the choppers it is ridiculous...When it comes to the BH I feel they should have beefed up the other choppers guns instead of lowering the mini gun....

                        That’s my 2 cents

Thanks for writing all this, it sure gives a good view on BF2 current condition, as for the information supplied, i think its quite correct. as far as the support class goes, i think it's fine :p

I think the AT class is bugged almost beyond use since the new patch with rockets going through vehicles.
