i have been in these forums for a while and everones like im taking a break from BF2 counter strike is so good. some of my friends have it so i went out and i bought myself a copy. IT sucks. compared to BF2. wow the graphics are week and the gameplay isnt as fun. Ill be sticking to BF

I think the HDR CSS maps look 100x better than any of the BF2 maps.

Other than that, they are VERY diffrent games. CSS is mindless action that is more akin to UT, where as BF2 is much more team based.

If you're looking for a really nicely made outdoor map for CSS, I'd suggest you look into cs_harvest. I ran a private 16 man server for awhile on my home connection with that map exclusively for about 3 months and there were always people on. Great map design with gorgeous scenery.

The terrorists spawn near this farm house where the hostages are being held captive.


This image shows off the tall grass that CT's spawn near at the start of the round. Each and every blade waves dynamically with the wind. Very dramatic looking setting.

In my opinion, CSS has more solid infantry combat than BF2, but they're just too different to compare. I have to say that nothing in any game that I've played beats the satisfaction of a headshot.

Too bad BF2 can't compare to CSS. The only reason why I'm still on BF2 is with all those vehicles and players on one server.

The infantry combat and complaints in BF2 is straight out lame.

This is all I can say;

CS spawn, die, wait till round ends

bf2, spawn, die, respawn, and so forth.

I've just always prefered games you could respawn. Always crap when you get killed by something random and have to wait till the round ends, which can take a while sometimes. Granted, having only one life does promote a different kind of play.

I've had more fun and a lot more laughs with CSS than BF2. That's all I've got to say.

I agree, I used to be a hardcore CS player, then one day my friend introduced BF2 to me and at first I didnt like it too much, but it was cool. So I kept playing BF2, got good at it and I was hooked. After some time I thought about playing some CS. I couldnt believe how weak it was. BF2 is so much better. Gameplay, skill, and graphics blow CS out of the water.

I've played CS for many years but it doesn't really compare to bf2, CS is very simple, very straight forward and I never really took it seriously. Bf2 is much more complex with many different factors which require much more thought.

I still hop between BF2 and CSS and do reasonably well in both. When I just want a quick game I'll play DOD Source, though. You can respawn so quickly in that game it's like you're constantly playing.

Ya the hit boxes are REALLY bad in CSS. God only knows how many times I would die after running behind a solid wall.

Also to add, CSS is a game you can literally play for 10 minutes (time includes loading).

I really don't like the CSS mode of infantry battle, the headshot hitbox is WAY TOO BIG.

BF2 ftw! Im an infantry guy but I hate CS/CSS.
