Yeah, I meant some of the points to be very general. Like the first bullet under sniper is defend flags. This could involve claymores, suppression fire etc. I made it that broad to emphasize that the sniper class is more of a defensive role. Or if it is offensive, your not right up there in guys faces usually.

I think Snipers make a great lead assault force. They sneak behind enemy lines to identify targets, boobytrap travel points and kill enemy assetts.

Keeping them for base defense is so lam and boring.

Only noobs, which usually take the sniper class and stay back to defend the unoccupied base, do that.

I find as a sniper i am able to get around better than the other classes.

I could use the supply drops for healing/resupplying troops and armor.
Lately I've been making my living repairing commander assets and working armor. That started once I got the Jackhammer unlock, since I can protect myself up close and personal. With the number of mines I've seen out there, some others seem to be enjoying the engy kit too.

Why not expand your kit priorities to include some basic team strategies? For example armor columns with engineers as drivers and support as gunner/passenger, sticking together to repair and resupply each other. Then move the thread to Tips/Tricks. I've seen a couple of sites out there which have started capturing strategies, but they aren't as inclusive as I'd like.

Hmm...booby trap travel points. Im assuming you mean against infantry. Even then you only have 2 claymores.

Kill enemy assets......I hope you dont mean enemy commanders assets :) It would be cool to have c4 as a sniper though.

Yes, flag defending is sometimes "boring" but if more people did it, we wouldnt have to keep coming back to the same flag to get it again. Now, snipers in your uncapturable base, is a little lame unless they are taking out enemy spec ops.

            Sorry, but nobody cares.

If you were realistic, then the priority, for all classes, would be "get the most points"

You negelected the lone wolf, ok not a great team player but very capable of taking risk and providing unexpected leaps in how the round turns out. Not being tied to a squad can be almost as important as not being tied to a squad.
Lone wolf should be a risk taker, a vital wild card in game play. I do go off by myself a lot, i enjoy it. I can see that the enemy commander is far more likely to send a squad or arty against an attacking squad, the single blip on the scan is never much concern. With ease i can get behind the lines as an individual where as sneaking half a dozen people is not so easy and a greater risk to tickets.
Also lone wolf is great cannon fodder that relieves squads from the chore of defending a hot zone when really you want all your squads out flag capping. The only problem is that you cant talk to them or guess what they might do next.
A vital role even if not in the team as such.

Support is the best for taking out infantry. No one lays down cover fire in BF2.

Main problem with lone wolf is that its very hard to communicate with anyone. It drove me crazy when my mic broke and I couldn't talk with my squad! The lone wolf does play as one of the kits covered initially, so I think some of it could apply to them as well. Also, even making a small two man squad, say with a spec ops and support guy would be awesome! Sneak behind enemy lines and blow everything up! To each his own, but I know squad mates have saved my butt many times. Its kind of hard to take risks when you die alone by yourself on some secluded mountain top. :guns:
