We all know that the L85A1's acc is suberb, but now they have updated it in 1.2, it now takes 3 shots to kill instead of 4.

Don't waste your unlocks on those weapons! i have unlocked every single weapon except these 2. I've tried them in single player and they ... <aren't good>

Once again, I reiterate... avoid unlocking engineer or AT guns unless you are dedicated to those kits. I do commend their 2nd tier's stability when zoomed, but at the same time- they are only good as a side-arm. Try to remember- whatever the kit says the unit's job is- is what should be getting them most of their points (i.e: AT- for destroying vehicles and supporting the ground-force, and Engineer, for repairs and placing mines on key strategic areas - and some combat support I suppose, BUT I MEAN SUPPORT ONLY; you won't live long as an Engineer or AT thinking you're an Assault or SpecOps).

I've just got staff sergeant so am unlocking my 4th weapon on the game...apart from the M95 (sniper) unlock I've noticed a more accurate sniper rifle, the L96A1 but cannot choose it on the unlock list as well as other weapons like flashbangs. Do I need to unlock the first 6 weapons to get to the second 6 or do I need to by the SF expansion

You can't unlock the tier 2 unlocks (L96, SCAR-L, F2000, etc.) unless you run the Special Forces expansion pack. You also need to have the tier 1 unlock for that kit before you can get the tier 2 unlock.

Personally i get hit by the L85 more often than anything else. Its the new PKM.

I'm a guy with a crappy com which can't support BF2 so i play from the local internet cafe

my first question is:
with only quick jaunts to the back to play occasionnally as it's not really cheap to go there what is THE fastest way to gain points? and which servers are they easier to gain in?

my second question is:
how many points does it cost for the first unlock and the second unlock?

first unlock is 500 points 2nd is 800.

Without actually statpadding the easiest kits for getting points are probably medic and support; just throw medkits and ammobags everywhere. Medics also get lots of points for reviving and support can get a lot of kills with their newly upgraded weapons since patch 1.2. You tend to get more points on servers running large maps with a small number of players. Strike at Karkand is especially good for points.

Ah, I do the same thing- I go to the net cafe to play- and it's usually good there because I get local team-mates whom I don't need VoIP to communicate with; and the air of teamwork being immediately there with you is awesome.

Fastest way to gain points? well- anyone can give you a whole plethora of hints and tips to boost your points - including cheating and stat-padding, which I don't approve of.
You know what? just pick a class that really suits your style, stick with it, and get good at using that kit- a jack-of-all-trades gets nowhere in BF2, not unless you've become an expert at EVERYTHING. But yes- The Medic gets good points because they can heal and revive, and also carries a decent gun to the field. Still... You can always get good points if you get good at a particular trade - so, why not just pick something to specialise in before moving on to a new trade sometime later (like... when you get a veteran badge for that kit- you can tell it would be time to move onto a new skill and kit).
Word of warning though- if you ever want to be AT, you better be good at it, since the new patch, it now takes a lot more to take down armor.

If you really want good points- perhaps pick a kit that heals or repairs, even resupplies- and stay in an APC or a Tank- provided you don't die too much, armour always pwns ass- and the aura effect of your kit will also gain you points by helping out surrounding team-mates.

I'll also just add this one in: being a very good gunner for a good helo pilot will usually have you topping the server (sheltered from most kinds of gunfire, it's just you, a big gun and a big guided missile launcher- plus 280 degree view to do all your killing in). It seems you're relatively new- so... in this tips & tricks section - go to the chopper/gunner guide which should be a sticky at the top of the forum- it's got everything you need to know about being a great gunner; then all you have to do is put it to practice.

not everyday is a good day coz my local cyber cafe kinda bought this wierd copy of the game which keeps spitting the error msg

"CD key in use Contact EA"

so it's not all the time i can play and most of the time all the pings are red

but the funny thing is i met a lot of pkers yesterday -_-

Ah, with the error message you keep getting: find out how many CD-keys your net cafe has- and if there are more BF2 players than there are BF2 CD-Keys, then there will be people missing out.

I'd been lobbying for my net cafe of choice to get more CD-keys- so then I can get me local squad of buddies to play with me, we got all these crazy tactics and stuff all worked out, and our teamwork is great... now we just need to apply it.

Luckily- my net cafe is decent, and almost no such thing as red pings where I am.

it seems that if we try and access servers seperately there isn't much of a problem except for pings that go up to 999

me and my friends normally just play together sad part is theres only about 4 of us at any given time

can't really lobby or ask for more cd keys....the dude behind the counter looks like a major gangster...
