We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Most people become squadleder for the ribbon, they need 10h as squad leader, 10h as squad member and something else...
You also need 100 hours as squad leader for one of the medals, 100 hours as commander and 100 hours as squad member, not at all balanced considering the variance of the number of available slots on the battlefield, 1,9, and 54 respectivly (assuming a full 64 player server)
I use the insert key when I want to join and stick to a certain team...I then disband the squad and join another or form a squad by inviting the friends whose team I wanted to join in the first place.
In regular every day play..I use the Create Squad button and then go directoy into Manage and invite my friends.
i use capslaock to bring up squad screen and normally join a squad with the most members in it. i am hardly ever squad leader unless successive squad leaders leave my squad making me the leader, or if there are no squads at all i will make one.
there are too many 1 man squads, people make squads just so they can request uav and supplies whereever they want. i reckon a quick join would be good i also reckon they need to make auto balance only apply to players not in a squad or commander
Being in a squad and being squad leader are great. But if you create a squad and become it's leader, for God sakes do your job and lead the squad. I hate lone wolf squad leaders.
I don't think you should be a commander or a squad leader if you don't have a mic. But that's just me being a BF2 Nazi.
Dunno..but when I play with friends, we like to be on the same side and squad. So we'll do this to get on the same team. But we don't leave it as 1 man squads...once we're all on the same team, we form 1 squad.
And yeah..it drives me NUTS that it lets you switch and then suicides you and give you -2 points and then switches you back. But, I guess it's a deterrant because they don't want everybody doing it.
Don't missunderstand me I'm not crying foul I meant exactly what I said. I will use this myself it's very annoying to have to wait ten minutes to be able to get on the same team as your mates.
Right now insert makes a new squad, it won't put you in an existing one.
For those of you who prefer to play as squad members, would you use a quick join button?
For you squad leaders, do you use the Insert key, or do you pull up the UI and manually create a squad?
A quick join button would be mostly useless. If I'm alone (without clanmates) on a server I usually use squads as a means of getting to where I need to go and if the squad(leader) knows what it's doing I'll stay.
The create squad button is very useful but a leave squad button would be even more useful for clan play.
A great function would be to ask a non squadmember to form a squad so he's spawnable. I can't count the number of times I've seen blue dots near a grey flag who just won't form squads.
I was playing a match the other night where all 8 squads had one person in each, and all were locked down. I kept asking people to either unlock or leave and nobody would comply. It totally screwed up any teamplay advantage the USMC desperately needs on Wake.
I take it you're not actually part of the BF2 team?
I joined DICE post bf2 development, so no, but I have input on the game and the franchise (like all DICE members).

Fun trivia fact, that ability to join squads while you're dead was a bug that simply stayed as a feature. It was never intended to let people join and leave a squad simply to spawn. (I think this sometimes occurs, you can't seem to spawn on your squad leader while dead.)
Would it be possible to make sure only lone wolfs get auto-switched first? I think that would make people join squads instead of creating them as they wouldn't get auto-switched when s/he dies.
And btw Demize99, are you working at the Canadian Office or the Stockholm office at Dice? Been wondering this for a while actually.

Yeah I would've imagined that the squad jumping was an unintended tactic. I'm not sure if it's for the better or for the worse though. It speeds up clan play and makes the commander important though.
I believe there is a server script that you can run that will only switch lone wolves...problem is, most servers wouldn't go through the trouble of changing anything from the default.
i've been squadleader with or without members allot coz i need my squadleader time for the stats, and its handy so you can request stuff you need.... kinda n00bish, but if no one wants to do teamplay there's no other option.
You said it. What if someone NEEDS to make a squad because they are in a great place where others can spawn on them... I hate seeing 5-6 squads with one person.... never thought that itd be because of STATS thats ridiculous.
