His works because he has an FX5200 and your laptop maranello only has an FX4400. Bf2 doesn't work on 4 series cards only 5 and up series.

Suprised he can run it in 1024x768 though.

A very small chance... very small... by overclocking it.

              For nVidea: Coolbits
              For Ati: Ati Tool
              Rivatuner

Do you have all latest drivers?

Read the back of the box...but the game will run on a FX5200.

Yeah I do, but the problem is my card doesn't have 2.1 shader support. I dont think overclocking it will change anything.

nope geforce 4 series are not supported, it won't work in a milion years
if its a swapable videocard, you could swap it for something like a 9700 and you can play bf2 without any problems on your laptop.

as for the topicstarter, a Pentium M 1.6 ghz is allot faster than you think, its comparable with a p4 3 ghz, so its not weird it works, but some extra ram wont hurt either.
the vga isnt that good, but hey it works :P and it can be swaped if you want to.

to bad swapping a notebook vga is quite expensive

OOOOOdidnt know that about pentium M!!!! and the laptop was actually FREE through a deal my dad got with his company!

and i tweaked like a mo fo, and used nvidia drivers 77.60, anything higher is based on high quality for vanilla, so maybe you should keep that in mind too. And if you dont want to take risks OCing, i use the omega drivers on my old desktop

                      P4 1.7Ghz
384MB RAMBUS (RDRAM) [ewww....i know, but is it any good?]
Geforce FX 5500 (256 MB) Agp 4x Oced preety high too, mostly low some med
                      and raptor HDD

IF YOU HAVE CRAPTASTIC COMPS THAT YOU WANT TO RUN BF2 SEND ME AN EMAIL AND I"LL TELL YOU EVERYTHING I DID!!!

Why would you play the game on a piece of sh*t like that? You can build a PC 4x better than that for $500.

i dont think shader support matters, the 5200 only has 1.1 (i know cause i couldnt run chaos theory very well, or Silent Hill 4)

the first thing i think you should do is download the 77.6 drivers, and coolbits 1 and 2, overclock and tweak your settings nicely. Try that, and dont forget to defrag in safe mode!!!!

how do you tell what fps you have? cause i think i once saw it at 30, maybe i was drunk...dont know.

How do you get around the heat concerns with the overclocking? I'm pretty sure there's no way to get an after market cooler on a laptop card ... is there?? If heats not much of an issue, then hell, I'll overclock my ATI Mobile x700 ^__^

Type in the following to console w/o the " ... "renderer.drawfps 1" change the 1 to a 0 to turn the fps off
