i think i take the game to seriously b/c i play for points when i should play for fun. i get so mad when i get killed over and over again. u do get better the more u play as with anything u practice at but sometimes u get in a rut as i was this weekend and it made me so mad i wanted to quit the game for good. but its good to take a break for a couple of days that way it makes the game more fun and less frustrating. and i do agree 20k to 50k to the next rank is a bit much. the should have made it where u only needed 30k for it

When EA/DICE doesnt update stats for entire weekend periods, it makes it even more difficult... Hell, I would say it is damn near impossible when your stats don't even get recorded.......

You wanna know whats rediculous!!!!!! When you get enough points to get promoted, you can't play for an entire week, then when you come back there is a new patch. You install it and get 2 FPS with a 300 ping and its impossible to even get 1 point for a promotion.... Just look at my signature and you'll see what I'm talking about..

i still think the 20K-50K gap is ridiculas since the next rank is at 60K (10K gap, compared to 30K on a lower rank?

That struck me as somewhat odd too. There was a pattern of the gaps between ranks getting progressively larger, but the first few officer ranks are pretty close together. Eh, whatever. It only really affects me as far as applying for commander goes...

I like big score jumps. Makes the ranks all the more important. The problem with the last patch was you couldn't really guess the skill of people as rank score were so close together.
People with high ranks, tend to be better players. Its not always the case, but it's experience that really counts.

If you look at my stats, you can see where I am and how far I have to go to the nect rank. If I'm right, I have to make about 30,000 points to my next rank. After that, the gaps are significantly smaller, and this makes no sense to me.

The positive aspect is that there are so many points to make, it's not worth worrying over, so I've stopped playing for points and am now playing for fun - the points will take care of themselves.

yeah just play for fun. i found myself constantly looking at my points and the game just started to seem less fun because it would seem impossible to rank up. but once i just stopped paying attention to points i got back into having fun, and when i did look i would be like "wow i have that many points??"

Yep, the whole ranking thing is pretty stupid... and these are the lowered requirements after the patches... and lowering the requirements was even more dumb... I played a while trying to gain a few ranks to get the unlocks I wanted, then they lower the requirements and suddenly I have all of the ranks but the last 2... so it pretty much killed the fun out of progressing through the game... and then the last two ranks had ridiculously high requirements... i just finally became a sergeant major and i think i play a lot... the same with badges... i'd rather see more awards based on actual skill... like the game keeps track of who the best sniper, team leader, team, combat, tank, etc. was for every game... it would be nice to actually get a medal for those kinds of achievements... the first time i played, i'd get a new award just about every day and it was actually fun and exciting because i felt like i was actually accomplishing something and getting recognized for some degree of skill... but now it's just like any other FPS and the only thing I get is stars, which I have a million of now... more awards each game instead of just stars would be cool... something for everyone to distinguish themselves with from other players...

i don't really care about points or ranks or anything... but it's nice to hear that drum beat and hear that you're recommended for an award... and they should find a way to get that into games regularly with minor awards that you can get every game, like the stars
