I myself am in a loosely organized clan (sometimes called a gaming community) which is pretty much getting together with people you know to play. And I like it alot more than the days when I had to just hope that the people around me actually care. Because so many times they don't, and I hate to feel like I'm the only one on my team actually playing.

I wouldn't mind being in a clan I guess. You don't really get to talk to people in BF2 however. Never get any invites or the like...

It would have to be somewhere in the middle bracket. A clan that does organized play with a few relaxed practices every now and then. No heavy demands or anything.

Well, I have been in a clan for going on 5 years now. There are several benefits to being a member. You make friends, not just in the game, but some in real life as well. You get the teamwork we all so desperately crave in the game. You get voice communication via Teamspeak or Vent which is the best thing for this game. Some of my clan mates became buddies I hang out with in the real world. It's pretty cool really.

We don't have practices, but have structure. We don't compete in CAL or any leagues, but have scrims with other clans for fun when we can.

Yep there is nothing quite liek being in a sucessful clan, playing BF2 on your own is good, but playing it with a whole team of skilled individuals all communicating through TS and watching the awesome enemy chewing machine that is guys working together after hours of practice is just incredible. Clan vs. Clan Scrims are just fantastic, especially when you win!

And since people are shamelessly plugging clans =TAW= rocks!!! (Trans-Atlantic Warfare not The Art of War).

LOL. In =TAW= vs TAW_ games, we usually do better. hahaha Well, we've never officially challenged or played them, but when we invade thier ranked server, we usually do better than them statistically. There's really only one way to find out who's better, and that's to do a scrimmage.

Since I've been in TAW, we have won every srimmage against another clan. We have one coming against TNT this weekend, and I'm sure we'll do well against them as well.

Man, if you haven't played in a clan match on cal, twl or nato than you are missing a HUGE experience you'll never, EVER get in a pub.

It's worth joining and a clan seeing what you're missing. big time

Definitely, to Clan. I just couldn't take pubbing anymore. All the Lonewolf jerks who didn't care a lick whether or not their team won only that their stats were good. I like to have nice stats as much as the next guy but my first priority is TEAM. A Clan was the only way to achieve that goal.

Clans rule, if nothing else its some friendly people you can talk to whilst you play. You may have the option of the clan having its own ranked server, which not only do your clan all have a place to play but you also can get know the "regulars" ie people who play on you server alot but aren't part of any clan. The banter is also another great thing about being in a clan. One thing I would advise is try different clans as they are not all the same, some are serious and play to win whilst others (like the one Im in .:XDR:.) are just a laugh, not really taken that seriously. My clan had a Lan party recently and there we're about 20-30 people there, we all just got pi$$ed and Stoned and played some BF2, it was great! What have you got to lose by joining a clan? nothing!

Agreed. My desire to play can be alot or a little, depending on how my week's going. Sometimes, I just don't feel the need to sit in front of the computer, other times I'm dying to get home and find the nearest firefight. But I don't want to be in a position where other people rely on my participation to succeed in a hobby.

Same reason I don't join a paintball "team". Same reason I don't go play volleyball tournaments at the rec center. Same reason I'm not playing a mmorpg in a guild. I do that kind of stuff when I want to, which makes it a hobby. Any higher level of committment than that starts to seem like a gigantic pain in the asteroids.

Not knocking those that do play in a clan. But the typical clan player and myself take very different pleasures in the game.

Definitly on clan, cause when u have a great team and u get know eachother mixed with good leadership...the rest of the guys don´t stand the chance...whatever you said in contrary it's worthless....IMO only....

Oh definately. We're about to enter TWL soon. We have to work some kinks, but we'll be joining soon.
