My point is, I'm part of the minority like most 1.2 haters, and we are fighting a losing battle.

It extends far before 1.2, sadly. Even before the retail release and the demo. First they say "we're aiming for a game that everyone can jump right into and play while still giving those familiar with the Battlefield series something to do", now it's almost like EA bought a branch of Hasbro and got part of the Nerf toy line.

Furthermore, there are bugs which have existed since the demo which have not been fixed, and a few things that worked in the demo that haven't worked since. The game has went downhill as far as reliability, support, and specilization among various classes of the game. EA takes C4 away, and puts in claymores that you don't even have to trigger. Fire and forget! Even easier and n00bish than before. And let's not forget the PKM long-range rifle. Or the psychic AA which now allows jets, who can just fly out of the range of AA, the ability to kill their oppoenents even easier.

Balance is not EA's speciality, and sadly, adapting isn't the retards specialty either. (tired of 'casual gamer' and such, because even the more casual gamers I know would rather have a challenge than almost like having a cheat code entered that dumbs your opponents down) There's really not much more to it than the fact that EA is marketing to people who SUCK at video games. I'm not pointing this at anyone on these forums (gotta have that disclaimer most of the time, sadly) but let's face it, EA targets EVERYONE when they make a game now. And by everyone, that includes someone who's never touched a computer before, much less a video game. And they want THESE people to step into a game, and be able to play it proficiently, which means, as has been stated, horizontal line for a learning curve. Everything is dumbed down, the physics is dumbed down, the weapons are more like rolling a dice rather than aiming. And even then, I can shoot someone, see them get hit, THEY say they seem themselves get hit, hear the sound...but no damage?

I'll stop rambling now. :p But eh, as far as the thread title? As much as I agree with a lot of DrunkenPirate's comments on the boards, can't say I worship him as a god. I've got my own God of which I answer to. :)

problem is, without complaining sevre bug will never get out, severe unblance things never get out, ....

second problem is, DICE doesn't realy listen to the comunity anyway, they do many things nowbody asked for , and the things they do end up messed up sometimes

but if you get enough peopel to complain at once, theyll listen. No company would willingly sacrifice customers.

yea, i agree completly. 1 "whiners" thread where you can whine about any problems that you feel (or actually were) introduced by the patches, and also SEND EA/DICE AN EMAIL! actually contact them with the issues you found with the patch! help them fix it, which will, in turn, help you and everyone else.

It's damaged, I have to really hit it sometimes.
I've gotten into the habitof checking for missed spaces now when I post but sometimes I forget.

I really need a new keyboard.

The relationship with "hate mongers" and EA is much like that of actors and the paparazzi/media. Actors may complain and rail against them, yet it is the media and paparazzi who helped along their fame in the first place.

EA may be annoying at times, but they are the ones who brought you the game you all play in the first place.

I know I'll inevitably get **** for this but guys, come on! Not to be blunt, but constantly ranting about these bugs on a private messageboard accomplishes nothing. If you seriously care about seeing these things fixed, by all means get in touch with DICE/EA and pressure them about it. I am sure they would like to hear it.

I think EA has demonstrated on numerous occasions that they only care about what the noob/casual gamer wants, because those are the people that bring in the big money, and continue to buy the expansions.

So for the rest of us, who actually enjoy a skill based FPS game, and care more about learning curve and game balance, it really is pointless for us to try and be proactive with our gripes.

At the heart of all these problems, at the very CORE from which all of these complaints arise, is the simple, undeniable fact that the guns in BF2 are unreliable, and inconsistent. Good players gave up on trying to kill people with guns, because 50% of the time, they don't hit their target. Being the good players that they are, they had to find other ways to be dominant. And poof, you get things like noob tubes, C4 throwers, dolphin divers, vehicle whores etc... we had no choice but to turn to things that are guaranteed to get us the kills we deserve, even if they are not the things we want to be using.

So instead of fixing the most important problem of them all, EA ignored the small population of hardcore players, and listened only to the very large majority of BF2 players, which are noobs and casual gamers. And alas, we get a patch that completely ignores the netcode and the overall accuracy of the weapons, but instead focuses on every single alternative tactic that noobs constantly complain about.

And now we're all stuck playing a game that is impossible to master, because the learning curve has become a horizontal line. I could take a person who has never played an FPS in their life, and teach them the basics of BF2 in a couple hours. Within a few days, they'd be getting 100 pts per round.

Compare that to another game, such as Q2 or Q3.... you can teach someone how to play Q3 in about 5 minutes. But it will take them about TWO YEARS of practice before they can even compete with a top player.

Imagine a world of BF2 where you aim at a person's head, and you feel 100% confident that they are going to die before they kill you, because you KNOW that your aim is better. That's my dream, and it is the opposite of what most of the community wants, because that would make it harder for them to kill people who are better than they are.

wOW.... Just wow.... you have summed up my thoughts perfectly.. I applaud you!

Now, being that it is so hard to master, BF2, practilly pointless and impossible, why do we continue to play this game? Sure its fun sometimes, but we are ultimatly, working towards a goal of nothing... we will never become "better" it,s just playing to pass the time, instead of playing to become a better player.
